A bowl of minced meat noodles is perhaps one of the most homely, comforting food to have. This stall offers their minced meat noodles in soup or dry versions and I decided to opt for a small bowl of  soup noodles ($2.50). Service was relatively quick (perhaps because there weren't many customers). Served in traditional bowls, the noodle soup was not overly flavorful. There was some hint of pork broth in the soup, but otherwise it's rather bland. There were rather scant ingredients- noodles, minced meat and two wantons. The noodles are the highlight for me- it's the yellow chewy QQ noodles that are I really enjoyed with the minced meat. There seemed to be rather few bits of minced meat- I realized it's found in the bottom of the bowl- so stir your noodles well to fully enjoy this dish! continue reading

I was there for an early lunch on a Monday. About 40% of the stalls were closed on that day. I wanted something light so the soup version of the minced pork noodle seemed to be the right choice. I wanted the $4 portion. As i was the only customer so i gotten my order almost immediately. When i seated down, the stall assistant came to give me $1. She said a mistake was made by the cooking lady. She prepared the $3 portion and not the $4 portion. Such honesty is commendable. It was a simple bowl of mee kia served in a bowl of soup with a few meatballs, dumplings and a handful of minced pork. The taste of the soup was quite disappointing. It tasted a little bland with no sweet taste of those minced pork but the texture of mee kia has got a nice chewiness and cooked nicely. The red cut chillies did not help to enhance its taste any further. Though this was just an average bowl of minced pork noodle in soup but it tasted rather comforting. continue reading
