Met up with some friends for a dinner at Bene Spaghetti and since it was a new restaurant, we tried quite a few dishes out of their set meal and was pleasantly surprised at the variety and the taste. Firstly, the service was awesome and we were nicely greeted by the Japanese boss and the local waiters. We were given the menu and to call the waiter to order, we have to wave a wooden clapper then they would come. It was really cute!We ordered the set meal enough for 4 persons.Starters was a simple salad tossed with vinaigrette as well as soft white bread bun that they baked themselves. Main dish: Blue Cheese Cream Sauce Mushi PastaIt was served in a really cute way and it was still cooking when it was served. There was a timer for 5 minutes upon serving and when the timer is up, the waitress would open up the cover and wow, the blue cheese cream sauce smell heavenly. It was my favourite of all main dishes and the spaghetti was al dente and the sauce fragrant. Must try.Main dish: Seafood risottoLove the mix of seafood inside the risotto and it was slightly soupy which I didn't mind. The risotto also comes which a basil-sesame mix which is optional, and I find that mixed into the rice it made it extra fragrant. Main dish: Tomato Sauce Gnocchi GratinI'm not a fan of Gnocchi but I feel it was cooked just nice and the taste of the gratin was really good.. The tomato sauce was very fragrant. For dessert, we had Tiramisu that was included in the set meal (not pictured). However, we decided to add on the Bamboo white wine which tasted so awesome! It tastes of light white wine with bits of light grape fruit sweetness. It was served in a Bamboo jar which was really cute and very japanese.End of the dinner, we were warmly greeted farewell and as a gift, we were each given a small loaf of the bread they baked themselves, I assume because they don't serve overnight bread and thus will give the extras away. It was really pleasant and I would want to visit the restaurant again. continue reading
