There were a good range of cakes available on the Mother's Day though the prices have marked up slightly by a few dollars. This fruit cake turned up to be quite a good choice. It was a butter cake covered with buttercream then nicely decorated with a variety of fruits like canned peaches, kiwi, lemon slices and fresh fruits like stawberries, blueberries and blackberries. The butter cake has got a distinctive butter taste and tasted moist in texture. The quality of this cake has managed to leave an impression this time. continue reading

My mother has bought the mango whole cake from this cake shop to celebrate the birthday of my grandfather. This cake is not too creamy which is my grandfather preference. The diced mango fruits are very fresh and sweet. The cake sponge is very soft and light, which is also not too sweet too. The combination of the cake and mango taste great and good to have it before or even after food. continue reading

Bought this Fruit Cake for my colleague as birthday cake. The decoration of the cake was quite impressive and quite nice overall. There is a tasty vanilla cream layer on the cake that does not taste too rich and won't make u get sick of it easily. The taste of the lemon they used were not really to sour and it taste just right. The vanilla and lemon was a good match. The cake was light, soft and not dry, easy to swallow. On top of the fruits were fresh and tasty. Overall, the cake was good. continue reading

This butter cake from this confectionary is one of my favourite tea time snack with my fellow colleagues. The butter flavour is quite rich and the sponge cake is very moist and soft. One whole cake is go to slice into eight descent pieces to share with them. Great to have it with a cup of hot beverages such as English tea or freshly brewed coffee. The price is also consider quite reasonable as per slice is just less than a dollar. continue reading

I was near by and decided to went in and grabbed durian mooncake as a gift.Surprise that this outlet has a section for cafe serving beverages to pair with their kuehs and cakes. This year packaging:They were short of 1 more durian mooncake so I replaced it with the orange flavour mooncake.I personally like the Orange Snow Skin Mooncake when tried over other flavours. My auntie said that the durian mooncakes were not made of real durian so she didn't really fancy it and for a price of $9.50 for a piece of mooncake not really worth it.I bought some kuehs too. After the Little Nonya drama, I was attracted to the Lemper Udang. I usually get my Lemper Udang at Bengawan Solo. However, that day I found that the Lemper Udang wasn't that fresh probably it was the last 3.My all time favourite Lapis Sagu! I will peel layer by layer and eat layer by layer - it is fun eating this way! continue reading
