Introduction
A household name in Singapore, Bengawan Solo is synonymous with traditional cakes and kueh made using the highest quality ingredients and time-honoured methods of preparation. Special occasions are not the same without Bengawan Solo’s signature treats such as Kueh Lapis Sagu (rainbow layer cake), Ondeh Ondeh (coconut-coated glutinous rice balls filled with molten palm sugar), Kueh Lapis (spiced layer cake), and butter cakes and cookies. Knowing travellers often buy a box of these delectable cakes to enjoy on their plane journeys, or as tasty gifts for friends back home.

Signature Dishes
This cheese cake is not my favourite but I still bought it as I like the sweet design with all the fresh strawberries surrounding the cake. The cheese cake is quite alright and really as cheesy as compare to most of the bakery shops. The sponge is moist quite light as well. Love those red juicy strawberries which make this simple cake really colour but I suppose these fresh fruits do not really blend in well with the taste of the cheese cake.

I was at the HarbourFront Centre the other day and I decided to get something from Bengawan Solo to bring to Sentosa. I spotted these small hot dog buns which come in this plastic box. There are six of it, which is just right for our group of people. The hot dog breads are really dainty and it can be finished in 3 mouthfuls. The bread is tasteless, but that is ok since the saltiness from the hot dog made up for it. Overall, this small treat is a good choice for snacking purposes.
