The Japanese stall at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences' canteen has some of the best value lunches in NUS. This curry chicken cutlet set only costs about $3.50. You get some curry, a side salad and a crispy chicken cutlet. The way that they separate the curry from the chicken is good so that the chicken skin does not get soggy after a while. I was full from about three quarters of the rice. I like the chicken as there was just enough batter, not too much. The skin was also easy to peel off. Nice lunch! continue reading

The Japanese meals from this store are really value for money. The food is good and you get portions that are really very reasonable. My special bento set consisted of chicken, fish and tempura prawns. (: There was some coleslaw and two pieces of tempura long beans. The set came together with miso soup too. I did not queue long for the meal because the store aunties served very quickly. (: continue reading

NUS is one of our regular lunch venue. The Arts canteen's Japanese stall is one of the many value for money food available.I had the beef curry rice bento set consisting of the coleslaw, rice, fried beef in onion and Japanese curry. All for only $4.The amount of beef is really alot but rather minced and tasteless by itself. But with the Jap curry, the taste is good.It will be good if the stall can give slightly smaller portion of beef but beef up on its taste and quality. continue reading
