It's a cold rainy day so we were looking for something warm to eat when we came across this Japanese restaurant located on the first floor of Funan the IT Mall. As we all like Japanese cuisine, we went in. The place was dim because of the dark wood in the entire place - tables, walls, chairs, etc. Posters of Sapporo and Japanese writings decorated the small restaurant, so it gave me quite a cozy feeling.Chashu Ramen. As I always order serial number 1 on the menu, this was what I settled for. The soup was quite salty and was only lukewarm, not that I like it burning hot, but at least there should be some smoke floating from the bowl of ramen. The Chashu was not big enough to be presentable and it showed a lack of sincerity in cooking and/or restaurant management. It was also quite bland in taste or maybe the soup was too salty. The saving graces were the half egg and the ramen noodles. The egg was cooked just right! The noodles were springy and fun but easy to chew!Gyoza. We ordered a plate for share. It was not juicy, so it's rather dry. The sauce also didn't really bring out the meat flavour. I love gyozas, so this was quite a disappointment.Unagi Don. One of my friends ordered this rice bowl. It was so small I was shocked. However, my friend said that it tasted quite alright.Maybe someday, I shall go back and try other dishes and see if there's any improvements. continue reading

It's friday and took the day off books and head down to Funan IT Mall to look at some electronic gadget. Saw a ramen restaurant located at the far end of the mall. The interior deco of the restaurant is made Japanese like, with wooden tables and benches. It wasnt a really big restaurant with only about 30 people seating area.I ordered the seafood ramen with chicken soup based. The seafood consists of prawns, scallops, sotong. They are fresh seafood. Reasonable pricing. Will be back again to try their ramen with different soup bases. continue reading

After visit the Harvey Norman fair,i decided to have my dinner with friend at Bishamon. It's a Japanese restaurant.Bishamon..!The environment is quite nice, and a bit dark,it's suitable for couple. But it's quite difficult to let me to take a photo.Hot green tea..! This green tea have not much of the green tea taste.Quite tasteless,i more prefer Sakae Sushi one. This salad come with the curry rice. The salad is made from cucumber, cabbage, tomato, carrot and thousand island. Not much special,i also can do this at home. This curry rice is quite normal also. But i like the carrot,it's quite soft and full with curry taste. For my friend who doesn't like carrot also like to eat,but the potato is quite hard. The rice's softness is just right.I most like the pickled vege(red color). It's nice. The chicken is crispy and soft.Don't see this bowl is small, but it's lots.Im quite full after ate it.I like the egg at the top of the rice,it is very smooth. There are some sauce in the rice,it taste like half boiled egg.It also got pickled vege(yellow color). The chicken is quite hard, but still ok.For me,this restaurant's dish is normal. continue reading

If you craving for salad but it’s not truly only veggies, then you can go to Bishamon to experience a different kind of “salad”. They have Salmon Ramen Salad, Teriyaki Chicken Ramen Salad, Caesar Salad and so on. They don’t just sell salad, they are famous with their ramen. They have too many kind of ramen, like Cha Shu Ramen, Tonkotsu Spicy Miso Ramen and others. For the side dishes, they sell Gyoza and sashimi also. I chose Teriyaki Chicken Ramen Salad for my lunch. The ramen is nice I could say. They placed the veggies at the bottom and sides then put the ramen on top of it. For the top level, you could see the teriyaki chicken with mayo. What a wonderful combinations. The veggies are very fresh juicy and crunchy. The ramen is chewy and the sauce is taste like the mixture of miso and mayo? I am not sure. Its leaves a sweet taste in my mouth. I feel like ordering another plate! I’ve ordered the Okonomiyaki Gyoza as well. Not bad, the filling is mainly meat. But I think if they make the bottom crust to be more crispy, I think it’s should be nicer. continue reading
