Introduction
Blackball was drawn from the idea of 'Xian Cao' being black in colour and taro 'balls'. 'Xian Cao' is a key inclusion in most traditional desserts across Taiwan. The company was founded and created by Mr. Tang in 2006 and is now one of the biggest dessert chains in Taipei with more than 20 outlets. It has also expanded to Malaysia and Singapore.

I had heard from my friends that taiwanese dessert was such a fave nowadays.So when I passby this Blackball outlet, I decided to went to a try.The menu was extensive, and so was the prices. I ordered the all time famous shown in the menu, BlackBall Signature Crushed Ice at $4.90.There was more crushed ice than ingredients in the bowl. The crushed ice was quite tough and rough, making it hard to bite.The grass jelly had a springy bite and was herbal.The taro and radish balls were quite disappointing, I can only see different colour but cannot actually tasted the difference.

This was my second bowl of BlackBall signature. This dish comes with crushed ice topped with abundance of goodies such as grass jelly, honey yam, pearls, read bean, nata d coco, green bean, fresh milk and more. Its definitely one of the best desserts to end of your meal. I find that the portion is quite huge for 1 person, thus it may be a good idea to share it with another friend too.

At black ball there are many interesting items on the menu that i want to try.I had this the cranberry crushed ice with milk ($4.50). The dessert come with Nata De coco,red bean and tapioca pearls.The crushed ice is drizzled with cranberry sauce and milk.For a sweet tooth like myself, you will definitely enjoy this dessert because of the overdose cranberry syrup, it is quite sweet.

Been seeing many many instagram pictures and raves from my friends about blackball grass jelly. So I jumped on the bandwagon as well, to find out what the fuss was!We stood infront of the counter for like 1 min before deciding on what to get; Blackball Signature. It had to be good right? After all it’s termed “signature” so we anyhow picked! Anyway there’s warm, hot and cold. I can’t remember which one we picked but our grass jelly was the solid one. Yeah there’s the water kind also… Download PERX on your smartphone to get chops for every $4, that’s everything on the menu right? I didn’t really see the menu but everything looks above $4 So when we got our dessert, my friend was exclaiming, why only grass jelly?? Apparently it's all hidden below the layer of grass jelly! So I mixed it! There’s taro balls, bubble tea pearls, red beans and some other which I don’t recognise. But my advice is to share among your friends. We were full afer eating just one bowl of this between us. Everything inside was jus very chewy. Chew, chew, chew like jellies.

I had went to cityvibe to have dessert with my friend after a long day of work. I am kind of full after dinner so i decide to try out their drink only. I ordered blackball red tea with 50% sugar level and personally i don't like to eat pearl so i requested the one without pearl. Well, it was a very cooling drink after a long tired day of work. However, i can't finish drinking it alone as too full! So i will suggest to share with your friends after a day work. I particularly like the astringency that the tea provide and came a mild sweet after taste which i liked the best! Will definitely try again.
