Located at Luk Luk Eating house, it was an old coffee shop with filthy environment and cracked wall and flooring. Yet the signboard was obvious and new, business was rather good. Don’t be surprise, there was always a snaking queue in front the stall especially peak lunch time. Ladyboss was friendly, greeted us with a cheer smile.Asked for fried fish, milky soup looked tempting. Bitter gourd was sliced thinly, messy fried eggs were generously given. Pretty savoury soup, it perfectly matched with the springy thick Meehoon. Price was $4.50, not too expensive with a huge bowl. Have always been a fan of fish soup, and I would say this stall has one of the best fish soup. The place is very crowded during lunch, be sure to hang around to find a seat. I ordered the mixed fish soup (fried fish and sliced fish) with thick beehoon. The milky soup has a very rich and yummy taste, as it's served with fried eggs. The sliced fish is very fresh, and they are quite generous with the fish slices. They dont have the fishy taste nor smell too. The fried fish is good too, the fish meat inside is soft and the fish is not overfried. I like the vegetables inside, goes very well with the soup. Nothing is more comforting than a bowl of Blanco Fish Soup on a wet and cold day. The broth is very sweet and tasty and the fish is very fresh and succulent! For $4.50, I would say that they are very generous in the amount of sliced fish or fried fish or double fish (mixture of sliced and fried fish – additional $0.50).The queue is very long during lunch hours, at times we queued up to 30mins just to place our orders and left with less than 30mins to enjoy our food and head back to office. We made a special trip here as my mum loves fish soup and we saw a very long queue the other day. We queued for nearly 20 mins during peak lunch hours. I had the fish soup with milk and a bowl of rice. It is indeed worth the queue, as the soup is very tasty and flavourful without being overly salty. Chanced upon this place when i wanted to visit CAN restaurant next door. CAN was closed and i saw a queue forming at this Luk Lu coffeeshop. This coffeeshop is pretty old with just 3 other stalls selling food (claypot rice, duck rice). Its self service here with both the fried fish and raw version for selection. I opted for the fried version to go with rice and requested for more shredded egg slices. I was surprised when the dish was ready. The surprize was with the vegetable which i was actually given water cress (i think its water cress ) instead of the normal chye sim. Not sure if its got to do with the egg slices (50cents extra to get more slices). Taste-wise i thought it was pretty average with the Whampoa Beach Road version a lot more tasty than this. But it was refreshing to taste the different vegetable offered. Overall not a bad eat but if i would to return again, i'll probably try the claypot rice instead. The FoodThis place always has long long queue everytime when it comes to lunch hour. You can never miss this stall if you happened to past by as there will definitely be a queue. However, queuing/waiting time is not that long as the lady there is always very fast and efficient, which is good. The soup is so good. The fish slices I ordered were really fresh and huge as well. Is this the original Blanco Court Fish Bee Hoon, Fried Fish Soup? No matter what this is the definitely one of the best I have eaten. My colleague brought me here for lunch after our conference at MBS. It is located along Beach Road at an old 80's setting coffeeshop at the corner of Aliwal Street. A queue was already formed when we reached the stall. We waited for about half an hour but it was worthwhile. We ordered both the fried fish bee hoon and fried fish soup. The soup was thick and tasty with the sweetness of anchovies. One sip of the soup and I knew I am won over. The fish was also very fresh. One bite into the fried fish and how the fish meat broken down, we can tell the fish was freshly prepared on the day instead of using frozen fish meat.What wows me more was the used of spinach and deep fried egg in the fish soup. For me, I would finish the every bit of the soup, fish and bee hoon without fail simply because it is so satisfying. The broth is cooked with plenty of deep fried fish bones, yellow beans, ikan bilis and perhaps also pork bones. Usually the soup is mixed with condensed milk to add extra sweetness and to create a cloudy soup, but to test the mantle, you can opt the milk out of the soup to taste the lighter and original flavour.
