Chomp Chomp Food Centre is one of the classic hawker centres in Singapore where you can bring your foreign friend to introduce all kinda of hawker food. They have everything under one roof. Literally. This place is also next to Serangoon Gardens where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Bookmark this under the next place to visit for a group outing! The sambal stingray was my favourite even though I can't take a lot of spicy food! The sambal chilli was very strong but this degree of spiciness is just perfect to complement the tender stingray meat. It slips off the bones easily, demonstrating how fresh the fish is! continue reading

Since at Chomp Chomp, I wouldn't miss to try this stall...The stingray is cooked well, and it is easy to tear off chunks of juicy meat...The chilli complements the dish well, it is one of the better stingrays that I have eaten of late, the chilli is full of Hae Bee and is very fragrant..The tang from the squeezed lime provides a good balance of taste, making it a great dish to share with friends...Again, I will definitely go back for more!! continue reading

perhaps its just the size of it that really makes me second guess myself when i come back to this stall. but i loved the sambal. so there. a most unbecoming picture of my grilled stingray. it doesn't cost a lot to buy a fillet of stingray at the market really. and grandma does cook it at home sometimes. with extra onions just the way i like it! and she makes her own version of sambal. so why eat here? it's the banana leaf. the chincalok. the taste of coming home to something familiar continue reading

This Seafood Stall is popular for its seafood dishes and BBQ food.On this occasion, we decided to go light - minus the BBQ seafood.First on the menu was the Sambal Fried Rice, with chicken. It was not too spicy and full of flavour. It contained plenty of mixed vegetables, as well aschunks of chicken. For vegetables, we had Stri Fried French Beans and Baby Kai Lan.The French Beans were especially good. The seasoning added flavour and thebeans were crunchy, not overcooked. The Kai Lan was fresh and tasty, as well.We also had the Hot Plate Tofu - with seafood. The seafood - squid and prawns- were really fresh and there was lots of soft tofu as well. The dish also had mushrooms and salted beans it it, and this added to its taste.Overall, the small portions that we ordered were all really big. There was really so much to eat with such generous portions.I will definitely go back for more. continue reading

It has been a long time since i had seafood at chomp chomp since my stay at korea for over 4 months and i have been drooling of it for the longest time when i finally decided to go ahead and fulfil my cravings for the delicious BBQ stingray!Along with huge glasses of sugar cane, we ordered the stingray from Boon Tat at chomp chomp and it was a fiery dish, packed with all the sambal chilli goodness. Although the stingray was a little thin, i really enjoyed it. Delicious! continue reading
