Introduction
BOTAK JONES® was born out of the idea that everyone should have access to well-made food of all types. Seeing a lack of good, well-made western food in the industrial and heartland areas, the good people at BOTAK JONES® deemed it timely to carve a market niche and take the heartlands by storm. continue reading

It’s been quite some time since our last visit to Botak Jones (BJ) and when the husband received an e-mailer from BJ on a V-day promotion – 2 mains + 2 soups + 1 salad + special V-day cake for only $44.90 nett, – we immediately hopped on the bandwagon and made our trip down to the nearest outlet – Bukit Batok kopitiam.Alas, BJ had past its heydays and all that were left were pockets of sweet memories to be relished and savoured…Char-grilled SalmonThe salmon steak was tiny (perhaps only half the size of what we used to have?)and overcooked, resulting in a tough texture that didn’t appeal to the palette. Likewise, the cheese potato had also been downgraded… where’s the humongous portion of sinfully delectable cheesy mash potato back in the good-old-days?! The fries were the only thing that didn’t shrink but guess what, it was cold and hard, as in taken out of the fryer eons ago! Rib-eye SteakThe rich flavours of the rosemary infused steak, thankfully were still pretty much similar as what we used to have. However, the doneness was not right (the husband had ordered medium rare but somehow it turned out more of rare…), resulting in a bloody battle between man and cow. V-Day CakeNeedless to say, the v-day cake was nothing to shout about either. The icing was overly sweet and the chocolate cake, dry and crumbly. Seriously, BJ needs to buck up on their food quality and be more sincere with their promotional menu - not cut corners! continue reading

"Botak Jones" sounds weird and funny for me when i first heard about it. the menu and the shop is quite similar to aston, just that astons serves cheaper food, nicer food and aston has more outlets in singapore. i still prefer astons after having this, not say the food here is not nice, but i have the utmost fond for Astons. The chicken is tender and succulent, and the cheese and gravy on top is really nice. the coleslaw is awesome, chilled and crunchy, get the oiliness away. I will miss their coleslaw, and the portion is very large, american size i can say. continue reading

Botak jones has always been one of my favourite western food stall. Their standard of food is high, the quality and quantity is good. Sometimes the portion is rather huge though haha and the price is reasonable. Around 7-10 dollars. I tried the salmon fish set. The salmon is huge, tender yet juicy. The sauce matches perfectly with the salmon. On top of that, you can choose 2 side dishes for your meal. I chose fries with their special powder and salad, it's really delicious! continue reading

When Botak Jones opened at Bt Batok, I was very happy because that means I can have a real, true good Western food rather than other western stalls in many neighborhoods that doesn't look and taste-like western food. However, once it had become halal, I think the standard drop, and the sirloin steak is like not very nice. During the opening period of this branch outlet, the food standard is there.6 months down the road, the food standard dropped. But the service is still okay. They even asked me to check if my steak is done correctly. Nice one for a coffee shop stall. continue reading

Awesome to have a great western food place in a neighbourhood coffee shop! Makes it so much more accessible without having to travel to town to enjoy some good chicken cutlet. Love theis chargrilled chicken set. The chicken is really tasty and they serve a number of very nice sides ranging from mashed potato to baked beans. Great place to hang out with friends, especially when its so near the residental area. continue reading
