For full review and more photos, please visit http://thumbsforfood.blogspot.sg/2013/06/cafe-rogue-thumbsforfood.htmlCafe Rogue is one of the few cafes that sprouted in Haji Lane recently. Having heard about the yummy dessert they serve, we decided to give it a try.Cafe Rogue is not difficult to spot. It is situated below Sushi Airways. Boosting an alfresco concept, it does not have a large seating capacity. It's a more informal and casual setting where one can chill with friends while immersing in the rich culture of Haji Lane/Arab Street. Chocolate Pear Helene ($6.50) was our choice as it was a recommendation on the menu. It is basically a layer of pear paired with dark chocolate cream. I got to say this is really delicious! I can definitely finish this cake all by myself. The bitterness of the dark chocolate complements very well with the sweetness of the pear. And what I really like is the texture of the cake that is fluffy and it really melts in the mouth! Would definitely come back for this. I would really love a bigger slice though! We tried the Apple Cinnamon and Raisin Crepe ($6.50). It looks really appetising and pleasing to the eyes, right? What I like about the crepe is the texture of it. I would hope that it would be served hot. The cream on top was disappointing as it was like instant whipped cream. We felt replacing it with some icecream would perhaps be better. Would say that there's room for improvements for their crepes!Overall, I am excited to try out their other cakes! Ambience wise, it's more casual and exudes an ambience with as a dessert place more than a place for main courses. continue reading

My bf and I was walking along the area and came across cafe rouge which happened to serve french food so my french bf naturally felt compelled to eat here. we saw the lunch set which looks pretty value for money. He had the stewed chicken lunch set which i must say is quite yummy! Very rich in taste.. however, that was the only saving's grace for the meal. Everythng else that came with the lunch set was super small in portion--salad, bread. Coffee was very watery... I order omelettes and they were seriously oily! I think the only thing french about the omelette was that it was swimming in olive oil. It was so oily that i always felt repulsed by the second bite. I think i can do a better tasting omelette. Desserts was good though. I usually refrain from dessert (for fear of gaining weight!) but the chocolate cake was calling out to me.. lol. I saw many other tables having desserts as well so maybe its a good idea to just do desserts there. continue reading
