this place is a popular spot for late night suppers, residents around fernvale and seletar and also cyclist on route to other destination. I've never figured out their relationship with the adjacent stall though. Ordered the chicken nasi briyani set this time when my partner did not want to give that popular looking curry fish head a try. Priced at $7.50 i would say my order feels average, chicken served was pretty big piece and it only have a bit of achar to go along with. Nothing too special to shout about but it was a good quick fix on briyani craving. The gravy that was provided is pretty good though, and its not the fish curry served with prata type. But the attitude of the servicing staff i must say could be a little better, no small, minimal talk etc, guess because they are so popular that they can cut down on customer service? Will probably try the other prata stall don the road next time then this. continue reading

Another regular place for breakfast. I got a crazy crave for Prata all of sudden and this is the nearest place for Prata from my house. Gotten here rather early and the place was not too crowded. I went ahead to order 2 pieces of plain prata and my partner ordered a chicken murtabak. My regular drink to order is Milo dinosaur. I love the generous amount of milo sparkled on top. It has always been an enjoyment to drink this. The 2 pieces of plain prata went very well with the curry sauce provided and 1 bowl is never enough for me thus i always ended up asking for a refill. I love to pour them over my prata rather than to tear my prata in pieces and dip them into the curry sauce. The chicken murtabak was quite a big piece with generous amount of chicken pieces inside. It was nice enough to eat it by itself totally without the curry sauce. This is definitely a nice place for breakfast. continue reading

Jalan Kayu are commonly associated with prata whenever small talks on food around that area arise.Business are getting competitive over there as more and more similar establishment erected.I guess Cafeela has got an upper hand since it just located right beside the big carpark. (Yes, Carpark in Jalan Kayu can be a hassle!)To start off the meal, I had Teh'O' Ice Limau (which is simply iced tea with lime)A very refreshing drink to clear your palate before the meal. Then followed by 3 different prata, Plaster, Plain Prata and Egg Prata!I find their prata better than the 'more famous' Thesavi which is also along Jalan Kayu.Thesavi standard has drop tremendously through the years and I think Cafeela's prata are better than them anytime. The plain prata especially, crispy on the outside, soft and puffy on the inner. Most importantly, its not oily! Curry gravy was not too bad. I would prefer their potato curry anytime! continue reading
