Spoilt by the wide spread of breads available on cake history shelves, the pizza ham was randomly chosen during my morning rush. Portion was about palm size filled with stripes of hams, mixed beans, onions with mayonnaise and tomato sauce spread sparingly. Overall taste was towards the salty side, not stomach filling but at least providing some energy to kick start the day. Cost: $ 1.50 continue reading

After believing that small bakeries in neighbourhood area can actually sell nice and tasty buns, I decided to try at this Cake History because whenever I pass by there at night time, they are always having offers for all the buns. But for today, I just pop by there earlier after work and bought a few back for my family.I bought Polo Pudding (Blackberry) $1.40, Curry bun $1.40, Oreo Cookie bun $1.50 and Coffee bun $1.40.I quite look forward to the curry bun and to my surprise, it tastes good and sometimes you tend to have this type of curry bun with the fillings that taste a little sour but this one is just right. The bun has a soft texture too.And then the Oreo Cookie bun with generous amount of Oreo Cookie crumble on top. Taste quite average but enjoyable because it is nice munching on every bite with the cookie crumble. Crunchy. The Coffee bun is quite normal looking like elsewhere you can find. The buttery taste comes from within the bun on your every bite.Last of all is the Polo Pudding (Blackberry). The supposingly blackberry in the middle is actually the jam, which is on top of the layer of pudding but I actually taste it as the egg tart fillings. Quite nice and sweetness level is just nice.I realised that most of their buns are quite soft and not dry. Maybe the Coffee and Oreo Cookie bun I guess. The bun texture is a little dry. continue reading

It was after 7pm when I reached the mrt station. This is when usually Cake History runs a promotion of having their breads at $1 per bun. There are still quite a wide range of different buns left, but this bun caught my eye as it was a yam filling bun. I havent really seen yam breads around much, hence I got this. The bread is sweet tasting and the yam filling inside is very fragrant and quite smooth. However, I felt that the filling is rather little. It would be better if the yam filling is more so that I can enjoy more of the yam. continue reading

This sugar donut is one of my favourite purchase from this bakery shop. Infact for donuts, I still think the taste from here is better as compared to those cafe which purely sell donuts. The portion is quite big and the texture is quite compact on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. It has been deep fried till really nice golden brown colour and the icing sugar topped on it make its appearance looks even more beautiful and appeitizing too. The best part is the price is affordable and great for everyone. continue reading

i happened to pass by cake history near the clementi mall. As I was feeling pretty hungry, I decided to buy some snacks to eat. I walked around the shop and decided to grab a sugar donut. Their donut is really soft and fluffy. Despite having sugar topping, it is not too sweet. The donut itself is very fragrant. their donut is larger size than outside donuts so it was pretty filling for me. I ate one and I was full till dinner. continue reading
