Our host bought this logcake from the shop Cake History in her neighborhood. The chocolate ganache topping was rather sweet but this was moderated by the taste of the slightly salted butter cream. Texture ok but taste of cocoa in the cake itself was just discernible. 3.5/5 for logcake's appearance and taste. Host commented that this shop's logcake costs about 15% more than last year. continue reading

I like waffle, because it is cheap and can fill my stomach. It is also taste nicer than bread or bun. This waffle is in pandan flavour,it is sweeter than the original one.It is not very crispy. It is too "wet" already,so it is very soft.I more prefer the waffle with crispy style. But i like the red bean inside,it is very nice,it is really in red color, not black color. They put quite much of the red bean paste inside,so it taste quite nice.By the way,i hope that they will improve the waffle,so that this waffle will become very nice waffle. continue reading

Finally bought some large full size mooncakes. This one is a white lotus egg yolk. I love white lotus. It is not as sweet as red lotus. The egg yolk is overly dry in this one. But the filling is good and the pastry is generous and rustic.Costs about $8.50 each due to the egg yolk. Cheaper if there's no egg yolk. Better than the hotels. And no $++. And you can buy individual ones without buying a box of 4. Or you can choose from about 10 flavours and make you own box of 4! Very creative and traditional.Cake History has similar mooncakes this year to Q Bread and both are conveniently located in interchanges, so you can't help but buy them when you see them! I love these heartland mooncakes! The egg yolk could be improved. When it's too dry, it's not as flavourful. Large mooncakes tend to be sweeter eventhough they claim to have reduced the sugar.Recommended! continue reading

You can only get donuts from this cake shop in the morning for breakfast. And their donuts was so fresh, they normally sold out before lunch time. And I was one of the fan for their donuts. The bread was soft and slightly dipped in sugar makes the donut stands out. Not only freshly made, it brings back sweet memories of my childhood days munching on the sugar donuts. continue reading

As I suddenly craved for butter cream cakes, I decided to get some from the cake history outlet neatr my home as I knew they do sell it. I chose two different flavours, one was the chocolate cake with chocolate chips and the other was the normal cake with some fruit jam on top of it. The cakes were very soft and spongy. Together with the butter cream, the sweetness was balance with slight saltiness. Very delicious. Never fails to remind of younger days. Cannot have too much cos it is more fattening than fresh cream cakes. continue reading
