Good morning folks, look what I've gotten myself again! Half a dozen of colourful pretty little things, 6 pieces of macarons from canele. What flavours did I choose this time, you must thinking: Rose, salted caramel, hazelnut, feuilletine, chocolate noir and raspberry (special flavour of the month). Dessert was at Canele Pattiserrie. I ordered a piece of le gateau fromage which means cheese cake in french. It was super awesome. Smooth and velvety texture. The cream cheese was rich and luscious. It was simply yummy. the Crumble biscuit at the bottom of the cake added some sweetness to the overall. It is highly recommended. This restaurant is also very nicely decorated, which makes a very nice place to chill.

We ordered a strawberry shortcake and a creme brulee.

The strawberry shortcake was really pretty, but sadly it was quite a disappointment as I thought its taste would match its aesthetic appeal. To me I felt it was more of a normal sponge cake with strawberries in it. However, the creme brulee was good! Rich smooth texture with the sweet sugar crusted top. Personally I preferred the creme brulee over the shortcake, as it is more value for money. I love the place though (we went to the paragon outlet), with large plush sofa chairs - it gives this majestic appeal that makes you feel like sitting in there sipping tea the whole afternoon

Le Chocolat Croustillant ($38)

The cake is made up of luscious Vanini chocolate mousse layered between a crispy chocolate praline, opulent Gianduja cream, surrounded by a wall of divine dark chocolate glaze & crushed hazelnuts. In other words, heaven in a box.

The chocolate mousse was thick and rich, and would definitely satisfy the cocoa-craving in you! Despite being made almost entirely out of mousse and cream (no sponge cake layers or anything), it was not too cloying and hit all the right spots. The layer of crushed hazelnuts at the bottom made it even better because its crispy texture contrasted well with the smooth mousse and cream. The fact that it tasted like nutella was also a bonus because seriously, who doesn't love nutella?!

Needless to say, my mom loved her cake and we will be definitely ordering more of these in the future! That said, enjoying this cake should not be limited to birthdays. Whenever you have a chocolate craving, this is the cake that will fulfil it and more! Highly recommended to all the chocolate and nutella lovers out there, Viva El Chocolate!~

out of their 5 new flavors (6 for $11.50), both the Tahitian Vanilla and Passionfruit were too sweet and nothing extraordinary. But the Ginger and Caramel turns out to such a perfect match that nearly throws the all time favourite salted caramel off the throne. The pungent spice awakes you at the first bite of the shell before you even reach the grated ginger in the smooth filling.

The Strawberry Rhubarb with white chocolate, filled with sticky rhubarb, was neither tart nor additionally sweetened like fruit jams. Instead, you can detect hints of salts which cleverly subdue the milky, rich white chocolate ganache.
Raspberry jelly and mint is another bi-colour hybrid that has been spotted in Antoinette, Patisserie G, Sweetspot previously.

Ironically, the Chestnut and Cassis Shortcake $8 (left) which was named Cake of the Month for March, is still available now. That said, this is really better than the old school Mont Blanc because the sugar level is within control and the stomach-turning chestnut paste is reduced to a minimum swirl on the top.
The lemon tart $7 (right) is nothing to shout about except for the buttery and crumbly sable base. If you are curious what's inside, there is nothing. Its just a gloopy, unexciting dome of lemon curd.

Conclusion: The macarons are still stayed consistent. I wiped all 6 (one for $2.50/6 for$11.50) at one go. Every piece was bigger than our fifty-cent coins and disintegrates into the ganache filling (not buttercream) without much effort. For other sweets review: www.dairycream.blogspot.sg

my boyfriend got me this when i was feeling down, and it certainly brighten up my mood especially with the multi colored and multi flavored macarons! My personal favorites are rose and cookie and cream. The rose flavor is a little bit to sweet for some people though. To be safe, try cookie and cream as it's not so sweet. candle macarons are not exactly the bests macrons around, but they are pretty alright. one for $2.50, a box of 6 at $11.50 i think.

MACAROONS are so pretty to look at and so deliciously good. Love the macaroons here at Canale as the macaroon shells are crunchy to the bite and the macaroon always taste really fresh. Tried the rose, salted caramal, pistachio and chocolate macaroon and the verdict is... The rose macaroon was the NICEST! The fragrance of the rose flavour is not too overpowering and it goes really well with the cream.

Tea at canele was really chill and relax and it is a good way of relieving stress after a hectic day at work. Tried the toffee cake with vanilla ice cream. Really loved it as the warm toffee cake went extremely well with the cold ice cream. The caramel sauce that was drizzled at the side also added a tint of sweetness to the toffee and the arrangement and layout of the cake was pleasing to the eye. #NTUDAC

loved the fraisier cake I had over at canele!! a chocolate lover but I decided to try a different kind of cake for once, because I've tried the other cakes before. Fraisier did not disappoint me at all! It's light and creamy and smooth to the tongue! it may look small but it's definitely very filling for one person during tea time or desserts!the macarons were good as well! not forgetting the crepe! service was good and prompt, the staff were friendly!

Lunch at Canele, Paragon. I found the food was just average, and the menu choices were limited. The desserts fared better then the savories, although I don’t find them as good as TWG or Antoinette.

The ice chocolate was a dismally disappointing-watery and bland.

Chicken Caesar salad. This was satisfying, I came back to have this again on my 2nd visit.

Club sandwich. Impressive portion, great taste!

Baked Fruit Tart: Flaky almond tart swelling with sweet almond cream and succulent voluptuous sour cherries. I liked how the sourness of the cherries balanced out the sweetness of the almond cream. Thumbs up for this dessert!

Rose Macaroon. A colleague recommended me to try this. I found the rich rose flavor overpowering, like bandung. I prefer TWG’s light, tea infused macaroons.

Their macarons are indeed tasty! Worth every penny spent! Their shells are hard and chewy, don't break easily! The fillings are delicious. I had Feulitine and Guanaja. Can't really remember which is which as their colours are almost alike. All i know is that they are both sweet and tasty! Taste of chocolate and every bite is just nice! I will definitely patronise again for their macaroon.

I like Canele macroons because it is something special about the crust. When you bite it, it is soft and you can taste the sweetness of the flavour, and for this round this is rosey strawberry taste. And there is the cream which is not those cheapo that we usually dislike kind. And this is a good snack after lunch, eat something sweet and sinful! (:
