This Chinese restaurant sells my favourite dim sum, and one of my favourite will be their fried yam. The outer layer is very crispy and light in texture. Inside is filled with very smooth yam paste which is not too sweet and goes well with the minced meat fillings as well. Have it on its own or dip in the chilli sauce, both taste equally delicious. This restaurant is quite noisy due to the crowded environment, but the service here is good and prompt.

Had a big feast in this Chinese restaurant, which their roasted meats have certainly make both my brother and myself want to come back for more soon. The roasted char siew meat is juicy and not tough, and very fragrant too. Roasted pork belly is equally delicious and had a very crispy outer layer. Roasted duck meat is not too oily and the meat is very tender. Service here was quite fast and reasonable. Restaurant is comfortable but abit warm.

1. Steam Pork Ribs
Actually, I had tried better ones than this. The colouring also did not appeal to me. But my boss like it very much. He liked the pork ribs for its tenderness.
2. Fried taro
The yam is still crispy even I ate the last bit towards the end of the lunch.
3. Chicken Feet
Nice. Worth a try.
4. Custard Buns
The liu sau pau presentation was better than the one that I had recently at another place famous for liu sau pau. my colleague taught us to eat it upside down so that we dont miss out the creamy salted egg liquid. The pau is fluffy and the creamy custard is shiok.
5. Fried Beancurd Roll
its very very crispy. And its not the salty type when you bit into it.
6. Carrot Cake
This is very soft and nice. they may look a bit burnt but it does not taste burnt at all. Its soft and fragrant.
7. Siew Mai
There are mini shrimps bits in the siew mai. But I think we can try something else next round.
8. Xiao Long Bao
The soup in the xiao long bao is just nice.
9. Crispy Char Siew Pau

this is my favourite among all the dishes. The char siew is not too sweet and its to my liking.

Quite crowded during lunch time.

sad thing was when I enquired about their membership card, the service staff was not very pro-active in promoting. I did not buy any in the end.

I love liu shao bao. I mean, what's there not to like? Canton Paradise serves up fantastic liu sha bao that has prompted my visit to a different outlet. This liu sha bao is perfectly sweet and steamed till perfection. When the bao breaks open, hot molten liu sha flows up, stinging my tongue. The skin is also not 'wet' like oversteamed ones will. This is top notch liu sha bao at its best.

I was pretty surprised to see this dish on the menu. it was a combination of chee cheong fan and you tiao. i found the contrast in texture very interesting. the chee cheong fan is smooth and very chewy while the you tiao is very crispy. when you bite, you first taste the chewiness of the chee cheong fan then experience the crispiness of the you tiao. indeed it was a unique combination. not to mention they have a light sauce to top off the dish. this sauce is sweetish and saltish at the same time

the salt and pepper fried toufu was really good. it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. i like the seasoning, it was not too salty. as a whole the toufu tasted really light. there was quite a significant number of pieces on the plate. very worth it.

Despite feeling under the weather, i decided to go ahead with my plans to meet my friends for dinner at Canton Paradise. As i was not in the mood to eat a lot. I settled for their Century Egg Lean Pork Porridge, it was a fairly large bowl and it only cost $6 plus. The porridge was so smooth, all you need is to swallow it. The warm porridge did make me feel a lot better. I could not resist the salted egg yolk bun. It came in a long of three. The bun is so light and fluffy. The salted egg filling

I could not resist the salted egg yolk bun. It came in a long of three. The bun is so light and fluffy. The salted egg filling was so smooth, it was so rich and creamy. Simply ooze out when you take a bite. I could not resist and snapped a picture of the delicious bun!

1) We waited longer than expected because they gave a seat to a couple who was behind us in the number queue - when asked, they said it was a 'mistake'. Anyway, we observed that they gave bigger groups rather than two pax seats first, which is very unfair. Not like Crystal Jade which goes exactly by the number system, whether you are two pax or a group. 2) "Handmade Meatball Congee" - absolutely tasteless with 5 pathetically small meatballs that looked and tasted anything other than "handmade".

3) Double Boiled Chicken Soup - came after we finished our porridge, and after we asked three different waitresses three times why it had not arrived yet. When it finally did, were we disappointed. What was shown in the menu and what was given us was totally different. The menu showed a big piece of fat juicy chicken in a big bowl, but what we got was the kind of boiled soup that was dished out by those hawker stalls, with a few pathetic pieces of dry chicken and two pieces of ginger. Soup itself wasn't fantastic either.

In all, totally disappointed with Canton Paradise. Such food should not have come from a restaurant which is the sister restaurant of the more premium Seafood Paradise.

2. Jumbo Prawn Wanton Noodles (Dried) - My dad loves this!
3. Jumbo Prawn Wanton Noodles (Soup) - I like the soup!
4. Mini Custard Buns - Thumbs up! Definitely the best! My dad loves this too! The salted egg custard liquid was super tasty!
5. Scallop Rice Wrap - I like this. The taste was light and refreshing. The scallops were fresh too!
6. Siew Mai - Three mini shrimps wrapped in one siew mai, definitely worth a try!
7. Fried Prawn Wrapped with Mango - Didn't taste as good as the ones we tried elsewhere.
8. Chicken Feet - We didn't like this. Too tough. Prefer crystal jade's one.
9. Original Chilled HK Iced Milk Tea - Thought it will come with a bowl of ice underneath. Anyway, the drink tasted fine.
10. Hot Coffee - Must ORDER! My dad and I love it very much! GREAT COFFEE BEAN TASTE!

Overall, this restaurant is worth a visit. You should come with more friends so that you can order more to try out and the cost will be lower. Alternatively, if you are free on weekdays (2.30-5.00pm), you should try their tea time promotion. It only costs you $8.80++ for a bowl of porridge, 4 pieces of dim sum and a cup of coffee. Very good deal.

Hope all of you enjoy! Do share on more DIM SUM places if you all have tried! I would love to try them too!

Service was good on weekday visit but crappy on my weekend visit as the staff were frazzled by the big crowds of families. Foodwise, standards are above average. One can't go wrong by ordering Hong Kong style roast duck, roast pork and BBQ pork (chasiew) here. The roast duck noodles was excellent. However the congee was a disappointment as the chef used cornstarch to thicken its consistency and looking for the ingredients in the congee was almost like a tr
