Capricciosa at JCube was a Japanese italian Restaurant selling pasta and pizza.I had ordered their restaurant specialty‎, Rice Croquette. Though it was a bit strange to order rice menu from a pasta and pizza restaurant. The dish came and I could smell the tomato sourish and savoury sauce. The croquette ball was big with crispy breaded skin on the outside. Inside the croquette ball was stuffed with Japanese style rice and some cheese.Though the appearance looked appetising, the croquette tasted quite bland if eaten without the sourish tomato sauce.Overall, I think I would better order a pizza or pasta than a rice menu when I dine there again. continue reading

It took nearly twenty minutes before my plate of creamy porcini is served to me. The pasta was really chewy and the thick creamy white sauce is very tasty and blend in well together. At the price of $17.90 per plate, I should say is really delicious and portion is quite generous too.The restaurant is spacious and very comfortable. The waiter is friendly and approachable as well. continue reading

I had gone to Capricciosa for lunch again because of the free $10 vouchers they had given us! Well, it is not worth at all. My friend and I both ordered seafood risotto and after discount (the $10 voucher) we still had to pay around $29. The first mouth tasted awesome, maybe at the moment I feel hungry, but as I ate, the more sick I am. The sauce of it was too thick and creamy, no matter I mixed it, it is still awful. Well, I had tried other dish of their before, and I remembered it was as bad as now. Maybe I will try again next time but not seafood risotto again! continue reading

It was lunch hour, we waited for around 5 mins to get a table ;DWas attracted by the lunch promotion going on where pasta starts from $5.90.However only one type if pasta is at $5.90, the rest were at $8.90, $11.90 etc.Nonetheless I ordered the carbonara which costs $11.90 and it comes with a soup of the day, which is the mushroom soup.We have a choice of adding $2.50 for a side and a standard drink, and on top of that, we could also choose to upgrade the drink to a special mocktail drink. It took less than 10mins before our pastas are served. The mushroom soup is not bad, creamy and tasteful, and not watery.(:The pasta was delicious at the first taste, the sauce is really creamy and quite thick, and was generously topped on the spaghetti ;DThe portion of the spaghetti is quite a lot too. However the creamy sauce made it gelate and we got a little sick of it. Nonetheless I managed to polish the whole bowl ;DThe bacon isn't a lot though, and most of it are the fats part.It is quite reasonable for carbonara and a soup of the day at around $14 after GST and service charge. On top of that, with every spending of $50, we get $10 return voucher if we pay by a POSB/DBS card. We got 4 vouchers, but only one voucher can be used for each bill on the next visit.Service wise was acceptable and the ambience is not bad.(: continue reading
