When we arrive at the shop,we were served to our table quickly and the waiter pass us the menu. We ordered for plain prata, paper prata, egg prata and drinks- iced the terik!The plain prata is good and crispy as the quality is always consistent whenever I'm back. The egg one has a savoury taste as i prefer this over the plain one though this might be a bit more oily. And the paper prata is more crispy and bigger piece as compared to the plain/egg prata and non- chewy kind. It tasted more like snack than a main to eat. haha. After a run at Macritchie Reservoir, my friend brought me to this place to eat back all the calories burnt. Air con enviroment with lots of seats. Good place for large group of diners. Tearing their prata into small piecs and dipped into the curry was like the best thing can happened on a friday morning. The semi watery curry sticked onto the prata, yet the crispiness of the prata remained. Their curry had a hint of sourness and strong aroma from all the spices. Heavy in smell but light on the taste bud. Personally I felt that their Tandoori Chicken was the best I ever ate. Looked dry on the outside but it was so moist inside. The surface was clothed with the layer of spices and the super heated charcoal sealed up all its juices insde. Try it was the lemon. Singapore is a wonderful place to dine. We can enjoy all races of food at any time and not subject to festive restriction. It does not mean that we have wait till Deepavali for Nasi Brayani. We were at Casurina Drive and saw a cozy dinning place. We ordered a plate of rice Brayani with chicken. We offered the drumstick but it was a skinny drumstick and wondered where had the meat gone to. The chicken was rather skinny, no meat. The chicken was dried as the gravy was not rich and thick. When we blended the gravy with the brayani, the texture of the rice is not smooth. I found it dried and did not enjoy the meal. The rice did not have a strong aroma. Had dinner at this place last night. Onli A/C prata place I could think of to bring my overseas relatives to. We ordered the following:Banana PrataUnique. It was served w caramel sauce drizzled over it. Good for those who prefer a sweet-tasting prata to that drenched in curry.Chix Floss PrataAnother non-option for non-spicy eaters. But I drenched it in fish curry as well for a fragrant cum sweet taste! Haha! Chix MurtabakThe chix within tasted as though they were smothered w curry powder - stunning orange! Rather spicy! Not fantastic. I was expecting more meat in it. Egg PrataNot fantastic in comparison w e special pratas. Mushroom Cheese PrataDisappointment.  It was salty! I was expecting Mozzarella cheese within, but it wasn't. Also, the mushrooms were all in a lump! If your a prata lover, definitely have to try out this prata at this restaurant, casuarina curry! There's always a huge number of people in the restaurant, the restaurant is not really big so there are limited space, but the waiting time won't be longer than 10 mins The prata here is rather crispy as compared to the other prata I tried. Personally, I like the curry and the mee goreng. Best of all, if you don't know what to order for the drink, order milo dinosaur or teh! It's really nice to go with the prata. I was around the area and was craving for some pratas so I decided to head back to Casuarina Curry. We ordered the Chicken cheese mushroom murtabak, cheese prata and egg prata. The egg prata (~$1.50-$2?) tasted kinda bland. I prefer the cheese prata (~$1.50-$2?) as the cheese gave it more taste. The pratas lack fragrance. I'd still say they taste above average. After hearing so much about Casuarina serving one of the best pratas and indian food in Singapore, of course I can't miss it. I was however disappointed after trying the food there. The pratas were served in a rectangle shape which was different from the usual squarish pratas (I found it unique). The taste however was nothing to be raved about and it did not win me over. I was hungry so had nasi goreng and skip the prata. The nasi goreng is $3 per plate. They fried it when ordered so it got a nice warm when served to me. The noodle is enough for me. First of all, for a typical Indian prata place, this place has got one of the better service around. Especially when you compare it to the prata shops at Jalan Kayu, this shop's service come out tops.Food wise, it was disappointing though. We used to specifically made detours just to visit this shop for pratas but over the years, declining standards have made us visit this place less often.The last 2 occasions we were there, I was disappointed to find that the pratas were pre-cooked. They came to us less than 2 minutes after we placed our orders and were stone cold. The chocolate prata fared slightly better, it was cooked to order but it was over-cooked. Instead of the usual crisp texture, it is now chewy.The last visit was simply too much for us when everything we ordered came cold and the pratas were too chewy. Hmm.. on a hazy day like today, I needed some curry to chase away the blues in a hurry. I decided to take a healthier option, a Masala Thosai. But it was not as I had imagined.Sad right? When I cut into the middle, the potato color looked weak and it definitely wasn't spicy enough. Love this prata house as they serve a wide variety of different kinds of prata and indian flavoured rice and dishes. This thosai is really good with the orange and white sauces at the side or just with plain curry that you can request for. The teh tarik is also really aromatic and milky and is really good. Have it either warm or cold and both are just as good.Great as a thirst quencher. The branyni here at Casaurina curry is really delicious and the rice is aromatic as it is covered with the different types of spices and the mutton that is served at the side adds a nice taste and flavour to the dish.
