I was here to have lunch with my friend who work nearby and they was having some promotion that day. Unlimited vege and this plate only cost me $8.80! Super cheap and worth it for the amount of portion! The stabdard of the food is good too. I specially like the smoked salmon and black pepper sausage. Dinner out with my boyfriend, we came to Cedele Restaurant. I was curious about the main course, because from what I know, it was famous selling pastries and High-tea dessert.Located at Swiss-hotel, Cedele was quite small and without complicated decorations. There were plenty of empty seats in the restaurant, even dinner time. It offered the finest quality of food and healthy cuisine, just like what the paper stated under the plate. They emphasized nutritionally delicious, Asian-inspired concept. For me, Cedele was a unique restaurant. Comfort food that was cooked-well and soaked-well, the grilled chicken was moist yet tender. Heard alot of good reviews about Cedele and decided to have a try. We called to book beforehand but realized that there isnt a need to book as they are alot of seats available when we reach. My friends and I went on a monday evening and we have difficulties finding the place at raffles city shopping centre. It is actually located at one corner and you will have to turn into one of the aisle towards Fairmont hotel. I decided to try their pasta and ordered the mushroom and bacon pasta. It is something like carbonara but the sauce is quite unique. However, the linguine is quite hard, not fully cooked. i would prefer the linguine to be softer. Another friend of mine ordered another type of pasta and her spaghetti was quite hard too. I find that they should cook the pasta longer so that it will be softer. Their sauce actually saved the whole pasta dish. The sauce is thick and unique.My friend ordered their sandwich and she was given choices for her bread. she ordered the bread with walnut and it tasted very nice. Bought a rugelach pastry from cedele out of curiosity after reading its interesting name. Surprisingly this pastry is not what I expected to be like. I expected a cookie like snack however it was actually very soft and not crisp like what I expected. Although it appears that the layer of cheese cream to be in larger portion and might take away the taste of chocolate, you are absolutely wrong!! They also boast that no trans fats are involved in the making of their food and that all food are made from scratch. For myself, I have frequented Cedele more than a few times for their tantalizing tea time snacks (they have one of the best red velvet cakes) and as a matter of fact, I have only eaten their mains merely once before.A quick browse through the menu, and I had decided on Beef Balsamic Mushrooms (S$24.50), which was a larger version of their Beef and Mushroom salad. The supposedly "medium" Sirloin beef stripes were slightly overcooked, and were served together with pan-glazed mushroom, potato patty and garden greens. Succulent and juicy? Yes, but it would be so much better if it was doned medium. On a side note, the crusted potato patty was pretty awesome though.Another of their signature mains, Citrus Lemon Salmon (S$22.90) - a combination of grilled salmon garnished with a splash of lemon juice, potato patty and garden greens. The salmon was a tad overcook as well, resulting in the flaky texture on the meat. Well, I still prefer my salmon with a touch of pink in the center. Went for cakes with friends, decided against the nearby Canele as we've tried the cakes and they weren't that good for the high price charged. Tried the red velvet cake from Cedele, was average, didn't particularly like the surrounding cream. Cedele serves all day breakfast. Hence, I ordered the pancake with sausage despite the fact that I visit this cafe at 3pm. As shown in the picture, the blueberry pancake is really filled with blueberries! It tastes delicious, especially when it is eaten with the maple syrup. The sausage also tastes good too. However, I feel that the service of the staff needs to be improved. Though the place is not packed, the staff never take the initiative to top up our water. The salad had pan fried plum portobello, shitake, button and oyster mushrooms topped with Balsamic and Olive Oil dressing. Received a whole carrot walnut cake with cream cheese frosting for my birthday. It was Heaven! We loved it so much we could eat it for every meal, every day! Best carrot cake we've ever tried so far! Amazingly fresh even after a few days. No sickening feeling after eating loads of it either. This definitely deserves the top 10 cakes of Singapore ranking. The service is polite and quick.
