At 85 Fengshan Food Centre at Blk 85 Bedok North, there are so many stalls that you would likely to to ponder over what to order. This was what happened to us when we travelled to Bedok for Supper. We have heard that the Porridge was quite good, but were wondering if we should waste our calories on porridge for supper. Anyway who eats porridge for supper?! Well, I have to eat my words.. in the end, we ordered 1 bowl of porridge to share. Chai Chee Pork Porridge 菜市猪肉粥 is apparently quite a famous and popular porridge stall in the food centre. When we were there, there was a short queue, after ordering, we had to wait for around 10 minutes before our order was served to our table. They serve a variety of porridge, ranging from pork, century egg, fish to chicken porridge. Pork Porridge (猪肉粥) with Egg $3.50This Pork Porridge (猪肉粥) cost $3. We added an egg for $0.50. The raw egg was placed at the bottom of the bowl before pipping hot porridge was poured over it. The porridge was served with minced pork and lean pork meat, and topped with you tiao and spring onions. Moreover, kudos to the stall owners it was not salty! The decision to add an egg was the icing on the cake as it made the porridge creamier. Wonderful, comforting bowl of porridge. This pork porridge from this stall is one of my favourite porridge in town. For the price of $3.50 per bowl, is consider affordable. The porridge is very smooth and not watery, with generous amount of chewy pork meat inside, which make the porridge sweet and flavourful. Minimum seasonings are used in this porridge, but is still so tasty. Stall is clean and neat and the stall owners are friendly too.

Been craving for porridge so decided to ask hubby to drive me here for supper. I always love their porridge and every time have to wait very long cos this stall is one of the "hot" stall that people will wanna wait and worth to wait stall. I ordered their chicken porridge and added an egg for it the porridge so smooth and generous chicken can be found together with the you tiao. Awesome! But I just feel the you tiao is too little and is kind of hard. Overall very systematic kind of ordering by using post it will never get your order wrong!

If you are looking for a bowl of good yet cheap porridge, look no further than Chai Chee Pork porridge. It is certainly not outstanding to the extent of specially coming all the way just to have this. But if you are in this area, then it's worth a try. The minced pork pieces are generally lean and the porridge is gooey enough (instead of tasting like rice with water); add an egg and it tastes even better. For around $3 a bowl, this is reasonably priced and good.

Met up with my friends for dinner over the weekend for dinner at 85 Market at Bedok. My friends decide to order porridge too as we are sitting near to this stall and we are all aware that this stall has tasty thick porridge. The 3 of them ordered the pork porridge. We all agreed that the porridge is smooth and nice but the waiting time for this is very long especially at peak periods like dinner time because the porridge stall is very popular.
