Initially my family planned to celebrate my dad's birthday at Chai Chee Seafood but plans got changed when my nephew fall sick. As my dad loves seafood, my brother suggested to takeaway the dishes and celebrate at my house instead ;) Although I can't take spicy food but for some unknown reason I like sambal kangkong but the one here is too spicy!! Even my dad said it was spicy. The lemon chicken is the worse out of all the items as it was so dry and the taste is not there. Perhaps the lemon soak up the chicken on the way back and the taste may be much better when you have it there. The squid and hotplate tofu were okay, pretty average tasting. I was actually craving for hotplate tofu but it was not serve on a hotplate at home (obviously, I forgot!) :/ Surprisingly, the omelette was one of the favourite dish! I expected it to be quite soggy and tasteless if it's takeaway but it was yummy! The sambal stingray and cereal prawns are the must-order dishes for my family! Both dishes were so good and I think I ate like 8-9 prawns out of the 15! The prawns are big and juicy and I just have a weakness for the crispy cereals. The stingray was full of flesh as well! My bro kept raving about the Chilli Crabs over here and he ordered 3 big crabs as only he, my dad & I eats crab in the family. 'Shiok' is the word to describe it and we ended up competing for the number of crabs again. The mantou is so addictive and you just can't stop dipping it into the chilli crab sauce.
