Char Grill Bar is commonly perceived as the less “atas” version of Aston Specialities. I ordered a prime black pepper steak with season vegetables and garden salad as sides. It was a nice to know they still serve steaks in such cow shaped hot plates. Though without garnish on top, the steak is placed on top of onions slices at the bottom, perhaps that’s the trick to prevent your steak from being overcooked, nice touch. Actually the onion really goes well with the steak, I ended up eating each cut slice with a bit of onion and I finished them all. The steak was really well prepared I must say, exactly per my request of medium well. On the other hand, the sides were not so encouraging. The garden salad which is just lettuce is a cold side and garden vege is a hot side dish, and I think they put a little mash potato gravy on top as well but quantity served was way too little . Overall bill was $10.80.

We waited for around 5mins before they served our orders to our tables.
The portion of the chicken seems to have shrunk as compared to the last few times I had it.
The pesto chicken does not have a strong taste of pesto flavour, but the grilled taste is nice and fragrant ;D
The meat is well marinated and the taste within is quite rich. And the meat is tender and soft ^^

Really love the chicken meat as it makes cutting easier and it’s easy to consume

The French fries is quite crispy and fragrant, but I didn’t really like it as the potato inside is a little bland.
As for the potato salad, it is not too hard and not too soft and the amount of mayonnaise is just right, which gives it a rich and nice taste, love it a lot ! ;D

A good choice for affordable and nice western food. Although it isn’t really great but it is pretty nice and worth it for the price ;D

they shifted the stall to a bigger one, replacing formerly the duck noodle stall i think. Ordered prime striploin steak with mexican cheese pasta and garden salad as side dishes. love the cheese pasta but i couldn't say the same for the garden salad as its just pure iceburg type of lettuce with lots of mayonnaise spread on top. Ordered prime striploin steak with mexican cheese pasta and garden salad as side dishes. love the cheese pasta but i couldn't say the same for the garden salad as its just pure iceburg type of lettuce with lots of mayonnaise spread on top. The steak's presentation may not be the best, still using the old school cow chape hot plate with no other garnish except for the onions which the steak rest on top of, nice touch actually so that the steak will not be overcooked so soon. Served typically in dramatic fashion with lots of steam and sizzling sound, the $10.80 set meal fully delivered what it promised. I will always return to visit whenever i want to eat a steak for less than $15. Kind of prefer them over Aston express actually. maybe i will try out their chicken next.

To me, I think Char –Grill is better than Botak Jones, although Botak Jones has a larger serving which makes me rather bloated at times. I have ordered the BBQ Grilled Chicken with two slide dishes and I choose French fries and their cheese pasta. I love the cheese pasta which is very chilly and the cheese is marvelous. The chicken is very tender and the portion is just nice for me. With the savory BBQ sauce dripped across the chicken, it makes the whole dish superb and it is sold at a reasonabl

Yet another rapidly expanding Western food chain that infiltrates coffee shops in Singapore, Char-Grill Bar certainly gives Astons and Botak Jones a run for their money.I ordered the recommended char-grilled chicken which costs only $5.90 inclusive of 2 free side dishes. I decided to have California raisin rice and baked potato with my chicken. The service was fast for a weekend lunch and I received my order within 15 minutes.

This coffee shop is located behind my house. It is only for the 24hours coffee shop nearby. This char grill stall has the similar trend with the botak jones and aston express however I still prefer botak jones, the Cajun chicken is simply too hard and it is very salty too. I hate too salty food. The side dishes are nothing special too. it is not a favorable stall, unless at midnight.

Cha Grill was very obvious there, due to the layout and design of the place. It is not a restaurant, but there were many opportunities for western dining there. There were many other branches of Cha Grill available everywhere in Singapore. Some Singaporeans that I know, can be "insanely fond" of Cha Grill, they like to have their meals there all the time. This was probably due to the cutting of hassles for food search.

So, it is nice that Cha Grill is easily available and convenient. It is not very nice to have a cumbersome eatery to get to. I think the snowing designs on the Cha Grill counter were very creative. It looked like frozen, cold winter. It is mostly western dining. The place permits people; who are not very good in etiquette, to practice western dinning etiquette. The service there was not that bad.

The food at Cha Grill was affordable. Some of the food there can be delicious. Depending of the type of food ordered at Cha Grill it could be delicious or not tasty, relating to taste preferences. Different individuals have different preferences.

I would think that the fish and chicken in set dishes were not bad. There were a number of side dishes in Cha Grill. There were mash potatoes, salads; with many different names, baked potatoes, onion rings, french fries, and many others. There were also dishes like fried rice and giant hot dogs. Pets were probably allowed outside the eatery.

The sauce for the mash potatoes and chicken chop was really not bad. The mash potato sauce could be a causal, and accidental, attempt for salivation conditioning. This was different from other eateries that I went to.
Cha Grill offered a different dining experience from other other stores, as the other store mainly offers Chinese dining. Cha Grill could serve food suitable for people of all walks of life. I would think that even the elderly could take Cha Grill's Mash Potatoes. This is due to the fact that it is a type of semi- solid food. Kids and Children could munch on Cha Grill's Mash Potatoes due to the same reasoning.

So, in an overall rank, this place can be at the middle of the scale. However, the food was nice. It would be better if this place, Cha Grill is cafe like. I would also think that it is not too bad if Cha Grill remains as it is. I prefer finding convenient food places. There was scarcity in places with onion rings for food. Therefore I think, it was a place that people could go for in the chase for them. This place could be a place for a verbal thrashing gathering with Football watching in the day.

I normally do not eat western food in kopithams, but this is a stall that whips up nice western food at a kopitiam price. Affordable and tasty keeps me coming back. This time, I ordered the sausage set with the rice and added a potato since I am sharing with my daughter. The sausage is very nice though it can get too salty after a while. I liked the rice as it is very fragrant. I think this is comparable to Fish and Co's rice. The potato is quite nice as well, not too mashy nor hard.

I went to char grill bar with my sister to da bao dinner, I decided to try their grilled fish this time. Their grill fish is really good, it was very tender and juicy. The meat is very fresh that you can taste the natural sweetness of the fish. I like the brown sauce they drizzled on my fish, it is not too salty and goes really well with the fish. Their fries are thick and crinkle cut. It is deep fried till very crispy. It makes you want to eat fries after fries. It was a very filling meal.

Overpriced - this is how I would describe the cheese fries which I have ordered from Char Grill Bar. This small plate of cheese fries cost $3.50, which is more expensive than the one from KFC, despite being sold at a coffee shop. And yet I think this plate of cheese fries doesn't taste as good. Though I have not tried the rest of the items from the menu, I don't think I will recommend Char Grill Bar to others as I am kinda disappointed after trying this side dish.

There is this western stall that we noticed and we found the price was quite reasonable so we decided to try it.Every order includes fries and 1 side item.I ordered the Mexican grilled chicken, broccoli with cheese cream sauce as side dish and the sweet and sour paprika fries. What I found it interesting was that there is a variety of flavours for the flavouring of your fries.Considering that the price was affordable and the food was nice, i will probably return the next time. ;D

I went to try out char grill bar’s chicken with my family. I ordered the Mexican grilled chicken and I was kind of disappointed. The appearance of it when it was first served to the table was very appealing. After cutting and eating, the juice of the chicken started to seep out. Until the entire plate was so watery. It was quite a turn off look. I prefer Astons.
