I love char grill bar western food as they serve affordable and delicious western food. They have a lot of outlets island-wide and the one I frequent the most is in clementi. Decided to order a sirloin steak with bbq beans and cheesy pasta. Had my steak to be medium, however some parts of the steak seemed abit too tough though. Other than that, the meat is really nice! Their cheesy pasta was great too with plenty of cheese sauce around it. Overall, chargrill bar is great for affordable western cuisine! continue reading

There were many western food stalls in Clementi Central. Tanglin Halt, Golden Roaster, Lava Rocks, Chargrill, just to name a few.Chargrill unique selling point was their big portion of meat at reasonable pricing, though not the cheapest in Clementi. the cheapest would go to Tanglin Halt Western Food Stall.I had ordered a Chicken Cutlet with two potato sides, potato salad and baked potato. The chicken cutlet serving was really big, crispy on the outside and hot and juicy in the inside. The chicken meat was thin and tender, though without any sauce, it maybe feel dry. continue reading

Ordered a plate of char-grilled salmon. Price was around $6, although slightly steep for hawker food, however fish used was salmon so the price was still quite reasonable. The salmon's flesh was tender and thickness of it was just right. The baked potato was quite dry. Other than the mayonnaise (which I did not like), there was no gravy to go with the baked potato. The fries tasted average. I waited about 5 minutes for my order to arrive. continue reading

The chicken chop was cooked nicely and it was tasty. As for the baked potato I hope it can improve on the sauce, just plain mayonnaise on top. The sauce for the chicken is just plain sauce without any mushrooms. I love the thick fries ! I can taste the potato but not crispy enough! The chilli sauce is good to dip with the fries and onto the chicken. Overall, char grill bar western food did not meet my standards. continue reading

I had decided to try Char Grill bar again at another outlet of theirs. I ordered a different meal today, BBQ grilled chicken and i added 2 sides; namely the California raisin rice and the baked potato. I kind of regret choosing baked potato as I thought the standard is different at different outlet. But it is about the same, the baked potatoes was cold! It really tasted bad! However, I really like the California Raisin rice which soft and the raisin actually provide slightly sweetness to rice. It is a dry than usual white rice, but it is not hard to chew on. On top of that, the chicken was awesome, I liked the sweet onion on it which improved the taste of it! It costs me $5.80 for the whole plate and the waiting time was less than 5 minutes! I think it is worth for a try! continue reading
