When I read the name, I was expecting a pretty Spanish inspired menu with loads of tapas, pork, sausages and paella. However, other than the tapas selection, the rest of the menu was standard western fare. The Pulpo a la Parrilla - grilled marinated octopus topped with paprika. Chipirones Fritos - baby squids marinated and fried till crispy. This is like the Spanish version of keropok. Crunchy and saltly. I didn't like it so much as I thought it was a tad too crunchy (tough to chew).

Their signature steak - below standard. I ordered it medium rare and it was overcooked and the sauce wasn't special. Only thing nice is the mash potato.

If you want to eat at Charlie's Tapas, I suggest just stick to the tapas and skip the mains.

We had dinner at Charlie's Tapas, Grill & Bar, of which the most memorable dish we had was the squid cooked in black ink. The overall taste was fantastic, a unique dish which tasted great. The squid was fresh and black ink well cooked. It costs around $10 to $20 for each tapas. We ordered a few and the bill costs up to $60.
