In the quest to find new places for food, the boyfriend and I decided to head down to Gelyang Bahru area to try out the hawker fare in one of their food centre. We saw a long snaking queue right infront of Cheok Kee Boneless Braised Duck and decided to give it a try!SGD3 for a plate of duck rice, it came with a generous servingl of duck meat! In addition to that, Instead of the usual salty dark sauce that is drenched all pver the rice and meat, this came with a slightly herbal taste. Good chilli paste which is not too salty, more towards a sweeter side but not to the extent of such as thai chilli. Duck is tender and easy chewing. Now, the sauce is one of the best I have ever tasted. The thick dark sauce blends very well with the rice, which is not dry or clustered. There is always a queue so be there at off peak to avoid the wait!
