Whenever I am tasked to buy a birthday cake, my top 2 choices would be Four Leaves Choco Exotic/Strawberry shortcake or Chocolate Origin Chocolate cake. Albeit expensive, the chocolate origin cake is really really luscious and thick. Chocolate lovers definitely have to try this. Another star item is the lava cake topped with vanilla ice cream which comes in a cup. Really affordable at $6 if i am not wrong. Love it when the chocolate lava flows out when scooped, perfect with the vanilla ice cream.Read More

I bought a 6" chocolate cake ($29) from Chocolate Origins for birthday celebration as the birthday person is a huge fan of chocolate. I got the original chocolate which is a safer choice as not many people love dark chocolate. Do take note that the cake is not really a "cake" because the layers of sponge is very minimal. Bulk of the cake is rich layers of chocolate fudge which makes this cake a really indulgent treat. The chocolate taste is really good, it is very chocolatey, smooth and just melts in your mouth. The sweetness level is just right too, not too cloyingly sweet. That said, as I am not a huge fan of chocolate, one slice is enough for me. Two slices would be an overdose of chocolate. I will recommend chocolate lovers to try it.Read More

Colleague treats lunch and dessert, so we decided to buy a 6" chocolate cake. Was deciding between original or dark, and finally settle on original since it's the more popular choice. I was so looking forward to eating it because colleague told me it's very nice. However, it was quite disappointing. Although there are thick layer of fudge, it doesn't have the chocolate aroma. Didn't really have the chocolaty taste as well. I might try the Dark Chocolate next time, but meanwhile, I still prefer Awfully Chocolate. Read More

A 6 inch Chocolate Fudge Cake ($29) from Chocolate Origin! Look at that glossy, thick and sexy Chocolate Ganache that surrounds the cake... I found myself in pure bliss! Chocolate Origin's rendition of fudge cake has an unusually thicker layer of fudge compared to others. To some, this is what they define chocolate fudge cakes. But to me... I call it a Chocolate Fudge Dream come true!Read More

Chocolate Origin is located near chock full of beans, and I decided to try its lava cake when I was there. Chocolate Origin offers only chocolate stuff and has good chocolate lava cake. One dip into the cake would make it obvious. The molten chocolate lava was flowing and it was not overly sweet as they use premium cocoa instead of diluting it with lots of milk and sugar. The warm brownie cake itself was also good and melts in your mouth. This makes a good choice for desserts.Read More

Absolutely delicious - their lava cake! The layers was so distinct and absolutely paired together nicelyThere's the Chocolate Cake with the warm chocolate fudge in the middle. On the bottom is their vanilla icecream with a layer of cake within. Be sure to share the calories with someone but every bite felt so worth it They also had samples of the outer layer of the chocolate cake. Definitely would consider this for any chocolate lover and would pair absolutely beautiful with a tall glass of milk. It was $29.99 for a 6-inch. So yummy.Ate at the 313 Somerset branch at the Basement floor. As it's a store-front, there's no place to sit within the store. The sales lady was pleasant and courteous though.Read More

Went to their outlet at 313@ Sommerset (Orchard area), chose the bitter chocolate whole cake for my brother’s birthday. Guess what we just finished it up within a second. I order the 500g cake – 6 inches, a 8 inches has to pre-order. It is rich and nice, there are serving the 5buck lava chocolate, I saw people buying it. Looks very nice. Read More

For photos, please visit Rubbish Eat Rubbish Grow: http://rubbisheatrubbishgrow.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/chocolate-origin-changi-village/Remember when Awfully Chocolate just started and the cakes were sooooo good Imagine that feeling of biting into an Awfully Chocolate cake back in 1998…and then multiply it by 10. That’s how ORGASMIC the halal-certified Chocolate Origin is.They don’t sell in slices, so you have to buy an entire cake but don’t worry – you can finish it all by yourself in 2 days. I did. Normal cakes have sponge cakes with layers of cream but Chocolate Origin’s cakes are the opposite; they have chocolate mousse with paper-thin layers of sponge. I don’t even know how it is possible to bake such a cake!!And the taste! Made of Belgium chocolate, there is no other word to describe the dark chocolate cake except for ORGASMIC. It was just the perfect and delicate balance of sweetness and after-taste bitterness. It was sooo very rich and yet at the same time, it was sooo light and soft that you can eat as many pieces as you want without being sick. It is truly the BEST chocolate cake I’ve eaten in years. Kudos!Read More

My colleague bought us this delicious chocolate cake for early Christmas celebrations in 2010. The Belgian chocolate taste is so overpowering that up till today, I can still remembers it and craved for it sometime. However, they don't sell their chocolate cakes in slices, unless you have to buy it a whole and share with friends. Though what they think is that their cake are so good that a slice would never be enough. But seriously, if one person can finish this whole cake by him/herself, that person would definitely developed a sore throat the next day. This chocolate cake has every factors that a favourite cake should be, smooth, intensely chocolaty and moist. Read More
