Located near my office, ‘’Tian Tian Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee’’ was very famous. I heard some of colleagues said the boss was arrogant yet it never affects their business. When we ordered our noodles, the lady standing there suggested us to order for a bigger portion which costed $4.00 because the $3.00 version was pretty small and was actually for children. I felt a bit unhappy, she seemed to force us to order the $4.00 portion. It was not the matter of price, just that as customers, we have righ

So, we ordered $4.00 Fried Prawn Noodles each. The portion still little for me, I admit their noodles was yummy but I was not satisfied with the price. As hawker stall, the price should be lower.

The FoodI ordered a plate of Hokkien Mee served with fresh prawns, sotong, bean sprouts and eggs for S$8.00 and this portion is enough for 2 to 3 persons servings. The Hokkien Mee is awesome as the noodles and bee hoon have absorbed the goodness and essence of the broth. The lard that was added into the Hokkien Mee makes it very fragrant and the small cubes of lard is so crispy that it just explodes in my mouth with a loud crunchy sound. Did not feel like eating outside thus I decided to take away fried hokkien mee for dinner at the hawker centre near my location. The portion given was quite large and I tend to eat lesser for dinner thus I did not finish all up.The ingredients given are quite generous too.The proportion of thick bee hoon to mee is 3:2, but I would prefer equal amount though. The wetness is just nice.

One of my favorite stalls from this market, I have tried this many times, but i find that the taste changed a bit, recently one that i tried, it tasted a bit smelly, maybe the seafood not fresh.I had the $8 one & shared with my friends.I still find that $8 portion was not enough for us I like the soft texture of the mee, not too dry nor too wet, especially the gravy, neither salty nor bland, tasted just nice& I also like their pork lard, but not much inside la.

This hokkien mee is really good. I like the 'wet' kind so there's lots of flavorful stock. The sotong was quite fresh and you should add more if you like. The lard was also quite nicely fried and very fragrant. Prawns are the usual 3 pieces and not exactly that fresh (but you get what you paid for). It's not too salty too. Recommend people to order $4 per plate and NOT share.

I really like hokkien prawn mee but I try to eat less of it as it is rather fattening as they use lard to cook it and it is pretty oily. But this hokkien prawn mee was indeed worth eating. The gravy is very thick and full of the sweetness of the prawn. The noodles are a little soft but were still acceptable. The prawn is really fresh but not the king size ones. They placed the sambal chilli and lime in a separate saucer so you can decide on the quantity you want to add to your noodles. I think t

It think they used the prawn head to make the gravy or something cos the gravy is simply so sweet and tasty. However I think the lard kind of made the dish a little oily but it did give it extra fragrance. Nevertheless, we were very satisfied with wad we got and it was not too dry or wet too.

This hokkien mee ($3 onwards) is good and was cooked with great tasting stock, but as I am writing review, I finally realised what it lacked when I compared it to my favorite at Bukit Batok - the wohei. I think its because of this that I found that the hokkien mee actually tasted better with their chilli. For $3, you actually get a plate of hokkien mee sufficient for a small eater 2 prawns. For $4 or more, you will get the hokkien mee served in some kind of pandan leaves.

If you are a fan of fried hokkien prawn noodle then you would be likely heard or even tried this very famous stall at Toa Payoh Lorong 1. This stall has been around for quite long. I have been eating there for many years too. The noodles braised in tasty prawn broth with fresh prawns and very generous pork lards added to give it the nice flavour. Give it a try if you have not, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered the smallest portion to share with my partner while waiting for my fried carrot cake. The fried hokkien prawn mee came before the fried carrot cake in less than 10 minutes.

The yellow noodle and thick bee hoon were well-braised in savory prawn stock to give its the flavor and right texture. The ingredients like squids and prawns tasted really fresh. And for those that love fried pork lards should not missed trying this particular plate of fried hokkien prawn noodle as a generous amount of crispy pork lards can be found amongst that pile of noodles. They separated their sambal chilli together with the lime in a small saucer. I will poured it right back into the noodle and mixed it well before started to eat it.

This is one of my favorite stall whenever i have gotten a crazy crave for fried hokkien prawn mee.

Another popular stall at this hawker centre. One of the nicest fried hokkien mee stalls in Singapore. The noodle is well fried using great tasting stock that gave it a nicely soft texture. The prawns were fresh with lean pork strips and nice sambal chilli that further enhanced the overall flavor, and not forgetting the pork lards that give it the oomph factor. Do avoid the lunch time as the waiting time can be really long. Highly recommended.
