Not feeling hungry, we just want to find snacks to eat. Me and my mum went to eat Dim Sum. Stunning elegant layout of the restaurant, the place looked cozy and neat. Ordering food after browsing the Menu, we attracted by this dish. The transparent skin was delicately thin, shielded a generous amount of well-marinated prawn and minced pork within. I ate along with chilli sauce, nice taste overall. Another one, it was the common Dim Sum we usually will order. Great taste while it was still hot, the fillings were yummy moist. Only the basic bun dough, I can taste it was sweet and soft. The service there was prompt and we enjoyed our tea-time.

We ordered Roasted Pork, Crystal Jade Congee, Shrimp Chee Cheong Fun, Prawn Dumplings, Siew Mai, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns and Custard Buns. Total bill was $52! The food had nothing much to rave about, except for the roasted pork, I recommend it because it's quite crispy and succulent. It also came with mustard sauce which was rather… unusual! Don't order the custard bun, if you're thinking that the custard will ooze out. The custard did not ooze out at all, it’s actually quite little and the bun was a tad too thick. Oh, plain water costs $0.30, basically everything there costs money, including the wet tissue and pickles/peanuts. Service was rather efficient, we didn't have to queue very long to get a table despite a huge crowd outside on a Saturday afternoon.

Crystal Jade offers dim sum in the afternoon so it can be convenient to visit Crystal Jade, given its many branches, if you happen to be craving for dim sum. The prices are also reasonable, costing about 3-4 dollars per tray of dim sum. The egg tarts were pretty decent, with the crispy outer layer complementing the egg filling well. The siew mais were also not too bad, with the meat quite chewy. The har gaos, BBQ pork bun and fried man tou were however average.

My friends & I were walking around Ngee Ann City and decided to have lunch here! The roast pork belly consist of a layer of fats in between the lean meat and I felt that it was quite delicious. One of the better food items out of all we ordered! This bowl of congee is also not bad. I am a huge fan of custard buns and it's my highly anticipated food item out of all but it turned out to be the most disappointing one! There is no custard oozing out of the bun. The cheong fun was silky and filled with prawns, not too bad! I find the dim sum at Crystal Jade Kitchen is only of average quality but the prices are reasonable.

We had the privileged to dine in at Crystal Jade Kitchen to celebrate Mother's Day in 2011. Thanks to my ever-generous lady boss who gave me vouchers worth $200.Food, ambiance and service was great!Chilli Crab is one of my family's ultimate favourite local dish. It is best savoured with tasty buns but if you are not restricted to have carbo-overload, feel free to order a plate of rice and indulge. The steamed fish is oh-so-delicious and very healthy! I was the one who ate most of this as I was pregnant during our visit so I opted for healthier choices of food. More photos of the food we ate can be found here: http://www.sweetmemoirs.com/2013/06/crystal-jade-kitchen-ngee-ann-city.html
