It was almost the same taste as the Hong Kong ones but the noodle was not springy enough. The four wantons were big and the soup was plain. My colleague did order the half of the roasted duck for their porridge and unfortunately, I neither try nor ask if the duck was nice. By looking at the duck, it did give me an impression its skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. Read More

Decided to head over to Crystal Jade for some dim sum and lunch before shopping at Tampines Mall. Ordered two of its Dumpling noodles, and some dim sums, including the chives dumpling, fried carrot cake and siew mai. The dumpling noodles were really dry, noodle is not 'Q' at all, no taste and the sauce is also very diluted. The dumplings were great, with lots of fresh ingredients inside, but the quality of the noodles had definitely pull the quality of the whole dish down. For $7.90, I think I can get much better quality noodles than this one. The Chive Dumplings and Fried Carrot Cake were also very disappointing. The chive dumplings were being fried, the skin of the dumpling was surprisingly crispy, but the filling inside is still not really cooked and the filling inside is definitely too little. The fried carrot cake has also no taste, it doesn't comes with any condiments like chilli sauce as well. The siew mai is the one that is rather edible only. Siew Mai is pretty good, fresh prawns were used. The total bill after GST & service charge came up to $33+ for two person. I believe the next time I'm back at Crystal Jade, will definitely go back to its Roasted Delicacies, which is definitely thousand times better than the noodles and dim sum. Read More

Had a sudden craving for chinese food.Soya bean milk was passable, a healthy choice i must say.I really love this dish. The ever soft and flowy egg with chunks of scallops and mushroom is a healthier choice among the rest of the soup offered.Vegetable was really crunchy and tasty. A must have dish.We had fried rice as well. I top it off with the egg soup we've ordered. Was rather tastier that way! This is one of my favourite dish, Salted yolk prawn. It's really tasty but a tad too salty for the health-conscious peeps.Xiao long bao was nicely done. The meat was succulent. Tasty soup oozes out once you bite on the outer skin which was really soft and smooth.Read More

Just came back from a 2days semi-business related trip from Hong Kong together with hubby, didn’t get any chances to eat any dim sum during the short stay *sob*. Nevermind I also can find good dim sum in singapore. We went to Crystal Jade at Tampines Mall. We ordered Siew Mai, Seafood Wrap in Beancurd Skin, Fried Prawn Dumpling, Lotus Rice, Fried Ee Fu Noodle.Fatty and juicy siew mai, crispy beancurd skin wrapped springy seafood paste. Lotus rice is very fragrant and tasty , and the Ee Fu noodle was well cooked. Smooth texture, with the right amount of moisture, not too wet not too dry. Read More

Foodeeply fried with tasty sweet and saltish egg yolk coated, there Salted Egg Yolk Prawn balls are every rich in flavours. Fried Rice is very common and salty. Their kind of standard definitely lose out to their competitors of the similar trade.Toufu is rather special, the sticky sauce with mushrooms and vegetables to complement its taste. The fish maw that comes with this Yi Ping Guo has a very stinky smell and definitely not to our likings. These duck bee hoon are very fine with braised sauce at the bottom. However the entire duck was not moist to our likings.ServiceService is quite prompt. Plates are cleared shortly and service is just a hand away. A raise of hand is immediately spotted by the attentive waitresses. AmbiencePacked with tables and tables of families, the restaurant business is very good on a friday night, perhaps there are some of them who are in preparation of the celebration for the coming mother day this weekend.PriceStandard pricing however the pricing doesn't match the quality of food we received and not up to expectation. For this kind of pricing and standard, we can easily find in neighbourhood zhi char stalls.Read More

In my opinion, Crystal Jade Kitchen serves up quite a good buffet. The food is good and choices are aplenty. My friend and I arrived at about 5pm, half an hour early for their buffet so we had some time to waste. We returned at about 5.25pm but were given a firm "no we are not open yet", and told to return at 5.30pm sharp. We got excited when we received the order chit, as it was an ala carte buffet, except for the prawns whereby each person was only allowed to have 3. Being extremely hungry, we got too carry away ticking items off the list. When the food arrived, there wasn't enough space (we only had a 2-seater table and more than half of it was already occupied by the steamboat pot) but the waitress was really helpful in assisting us to open another small side table for our food.Their food is quite fresh, and vegetables and prawns were crunchy and good.We had a good combination of vegetables and meat (more vegetables than meat actually); we sat for about 2 hours and finished all the food we ordered. Surprisingly we didn't feel overly full at all, I presume it was because there was minimal oil or carbs in our food (which would have made me bloated very quickly), so despite the large amount of food, the meal was still rather light. Throughout this whole time, the waitress didn't complain about us taking such a long time to eat, but were instead really nice in ensuring that there was always sufficient soup in our pot, and that our drinks were refilled. Thumbs up for the service!I was really happy and my tummy was all warm and fuzzy after the meal.Read More

Crystal Jade is always a safe choice if you are craving for chinese food, with so many branches around Singapore. Dishes are average, but their porridge is worth a try, and it's also reasonably priced. Tried their steamed fish as there was a promotion that day. Fish was very fresh, but the sauce was a little on the bland side. Vegetables are just your normal veggies, could try their veggies with 3 types of eggs which is more flavourful.Read More

If you wanna have something light, healthy and tasty, you can try the congee from Crystal Jade. Crystal Jade serves delicious congee with lots of ingredients. Ordered the century egg and lean meat congee in which I think the serving is quite huge. Do share it with someone if you wanna try other things. The salted fish fried rice is also quite tasty. However, I feel that the chef can be more generous with the ingredients. In terms of service, the staff is quite friendly and very prompt in handling our request. :)Read More

Steamboat buffet at Crystal Jade is full of flavour as the different types of sauces available at their self-service bar really have make the taste of the food even better. Enjoyed their almond sauce which is thick and creamy, great to tip it with all types of seafoods, vegetables and meats. Their chilli sauce is also not too spicy and with a little sweetness to it which is more towards the thai sauce flavour. The fresh prawns served are very fresh but would be good if they do not restrict only one time serving of the fresh prawns to per person (which is only 3 pieces per person). Like their hot tea too as is thick and the glass used is tall and bigger, so we need not worried that the drinks will be finished soon. Overall experience here is quite good, only which that their service standard would improve abit as it is a bit slow.Read More

The fried rice was apparently too oily for us, or else the taste was great. The siew mai, ha gao, pan fried carrot cake were good, nothing extraordinary. The pork liver porridge was really special with the pork liver cut in such big piece size. The "liu sa bao" - custard filled buns were the best dish of the day, the color of the buns stunned us when they are put on our table. We were joking that the color was such because it was halloween! :) As seen in the photo, the custard was really smooth and great! It oozed out when I took my first bite on it. Read More

It's funny how some people only orders certain dishes in certain restaurants and the same goes for me when I dine at Crystal Jade Branches.I love coming here mainly for their congees and normally order their century egg or sliced fish ones but I stumbled upon their sliced beef congee by chance one day when I wanted to try out something different.. What a great discovery - the congee was smooth as usual and the sliced beef was tender.. Great Comfort Food.Read More

Since we all love dim sum, we decided to go for lunch at Crystal Jade. As we were still early, it was not that crowded. We ordered many dim sum items and one item that left a great impression was the deep fried dumpling with prawn and parsley. It was the very first time that I tried this item. It was a surprise because although it was deep fried, it was not oily at all. The outer layer was so cripsy but it was so moist and soft in the inside. The filings consists of veggies chopped into very small bites with prawns and parsley. Delicious. As for the rest of the dim sum, it was good as crystal jade standard was well maintained.Read More
