Meeting my 2 pretty cousin ‘Dim Sum Dollies’ (Will get chop after I post this cos making fun of their figure) They told me eating dim sum is okay as most of the stuff is steamed (haha). We went to Crystal Jade at Great World City. Ordered fried noodle, steam prawn dumpling, Siew Mai, Braised Chicken Feet, Dumpling soup, Beancurd skin ball, Shui Gao. Oh my, where do I begin, overall their dim sum is all fresh, well cooked, piping hot and delicious.Even the beehoon was smooth and QQ and tasted of high quality fit for a chinese wedding banquet. My favourite would be the braised chicken feet because it’s soft and ‘collagenish’ the skin slip off easily from the bone. Crysal Jade and Dim sum is one of my many favourite things in the world and I definitely will return or check out the rest of their other branches. continue reading

Came here before catching a movie for a dim sum lunch! The dim sum variety is pretty standard, but crystal jade does these standards well. We especially enjoyed their char siew baos which were soft and fluffy, encasing a delicious meaty center. The liu sha bao was also fantastic, coming piping how with a flowing molten center. Definitely worth a visit for consistently good dim sum! continue reading

I love porridge and most dim sum restaurants do served good porridge that they normally called it congee as the texyure is smooth and thick. My favourite at Crystal Jade is the Fish Belly Porridge and most people don't like the the belly part for they afraid that it might be fishy. As for me, I'm brought up eating mostly every part of the fish and therefore am happy they have this in their menu. Honestly, I've tried many times even in their other branches too and there was never a problem, just be extra careful with the bones if you ever were to try it. Today I was exceptionally hungry and ordered a chicken glutinous rice in lotus leave along with the porridge and I cleaned up everything! Yum!PS - There is a 10% off Citibank card promotion for this month. continue reading

Went Crystal Jade @ GWC for lunch this afternoon with my colleagues.. Lunch was "fantabulous" and all of us enjoyed it.We ordered a lot of food today and i feel "obligated" to recommend some of the highlights:1. Rice Roll with Shrimp - Best Rice Roll that I have ever eaten in Singapore. I love the soft, smooth texture of the rice roll wrapped around the sweet shrimp and drench with tasty sauce. It just "melts" in my mouth.2. Plain Noodle Soup - Simplicity is the best... Springy noodles with green vegetables in hot pork bone broth taste awesome.3. Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce - Fresh, Juicy, Crunchy and Healthy. Yummy!4. Ginseng Soup - What a nourishing n rejuvenating soup! This is a "must try" soup. Very flavourful, chockful of ingredients. The stock is pretty powerful, almost like chicken essence. 5. Mango Pudding - Sweet delicate smooth texture. The delicate flavour of mango pudding makes it a popular finale after every meal. continue reading
