I am quite hungry by the time I reach Tiong Bahru market as I did not have a proper breakfast in the morning. I saw this stall selling Western food and decided to try out the chicken chop with rice. The chicken chop with rice comes with salad and baked beans and it is quite affordable at $4. I got a photo of my colleague's plate of chicken chop as I had already eaten half of mine before remembering to take a photo of it. The chicken chop is not the whole piece but it has been cut into smaller pieces, something like the chicken dishes which you will order at the economic rice stall, hence I guess thats why it is cheaper at $4. The portion of rice is quite large so it is quite filling. The chicken is quite tender and well flavoured and I really love the sauce. It is not too salty so it is really tasty when you mix it with the rice. The other things are quite standard, I didn't really like the salad as it was too creamy for my liking.

I was attracted to the bright & colorful display of a large variety of western food for the menu at this stall. Well, I did not feel like anything too fancy today, so I just tried the chicken chop with fried rice, which was priced at a very affordable $4. My dish came within 2 mins, which actually does not bode well. First up, the chef should have required some time to cook the chicken chop right? Thus, as I suspected, the chicken chop was probably not cooked fresh on the spot since it did come piping hot. It was most likely cooked once before and just heated up slightly before serving. Luckily the chicken chop still tasted alright. The sauce for the chicken chop had mushroom slices in it, but then there was no mushroom taste in the sauce itself, more just a one-dimensional salty taste.

The fried rice was not very hot as well - so it was probably prepared beforehand too. Thankfully, the taste was not bad as well and the rice was not too oily.

The peanuts that came on the side were too dry and a bit charred for some pieces. I did not like the salad as there was absolutely no sauce on the raw cabbage slices & carrot slices, so i left it mostly untouched.

Perhaps if you are not such a finicky eater like me, this will still be a value-for-money meal due to the rather huge portion of fried rice & chicken given.

like a slacker like me, their cooking skills don't reflect that, rest assured.

I ordered the fried fish with veggies and rice set because it looked huge in the picture. And it came out as expected.

I have to say thumbs up as the veggies are fresh and has a lot of varieties which I dont find much where else - carrot, mushrooms, paprika, broccoli and some cabbage here and there with bbq sauce is awesome.

Fish is fried to perfect crunch, I assume its dory fish fillet, streamed with mayonnaise.

Rice portion is also quite generous.

Tastewise should be pretty plain and straightforward as the taste meddles and heavily depends on your ketchup and chilli and mayonnaise usage dose (my case, its all three in one and adds up a mountain) but given on a big white plate, I felt like I was at Fish and Co half the price.
