It is nice to have a dessert hut in Raffles Place. After lunch, it is a nice place to go for dessert. My recommendation black sesame paste, it is smooth and not too sweet. Highly recommended.Only down side: too crowded and can't find seat at time. continue reading

This shop house is located at The Arcade. I have been told by my friends that they served several of good desserts.Today I pass-by the shop and decide to eat the dessert. I order the sesame paste with Ah boling. The paste is taste very creamy and the sweetness is just nice. The Ah Boling- made by glutinous rice is one of the Chinese tradition foods that cook once a year to indicate the arrival of the winter. Nowadays you can have it for the whole year. The Ah Boling is look like a big Ping-Pong ball and it tastes very chewy and excellent with the sesame paste. The price is $2.80 per bowl. continue reading

My friend brought me here for dessert on one scorching hot afternoon. I don't know anything at all about Chinese desserts, so she suggested I try the mango sago. I love mango, so why not? I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but was happy when I saw a bowl of snow ice, mango puree and some of those jelly tadpole things. It's sweet and refreshing - the perfect dessert for a hot day and a bargain at $2.80. And they use 100% real mango in their dessert, not just mango flavoring. It really makes a big difference. continue reading

This all time healthier dessert is great to have at all days too. I like the version here as it is filled with generous amount of quality ingredients, which includes my favourite ginko nuts which are really soft and not too dry version. The soup is not too sweet and great to have it in both the hot and cold versions. One bowl is definitely not enough for me and I usually have two bowls at one time as it is just simply too delicious! continue reading

Ordered a bowl of Tang Yuan (Chinese rice dumplings) in ginger soup after lunch from Dessert Hut. It cost me $2.50 for a bowl of 3. Reasonable price. The taste is good as well. Texture if the rice dumpling is smooth and the skin is thin with lots of fillings( Sesame and peanut). The ginger soup is not too spicy and not too sweet. It goes perfectly well with the dumplings. continue reading
