After dinner at hougang mall me and my friends headed down to dessert story for desserts. We ordered the mango sago pomelo to share. The mango was sweet and delicious. I felt that they should have added less ice though, the whole thing was filled with alot of ice. And the mango sago tasted of artificial flavoring. Not the best I have tried but still okayish so a dessert session after dinner

During a catch up session with my friends, we headed down to dessert story to get some dessert after dinner. This is their lychee ice shave! It is not as good as I expected it to be. The ice shaving has a rough texture like blended ice. Not the smooth Taiwan kind of ice shave. The lychee taste is string and the tadpoles at the too are chewy. Altogether not to bad but do not expect it to be the smooth ice shave: costs about 3.50

LYCHEE SNOW ICE 荔枝雪花冰This is a shop in Hougang mall that sells traditional Chinese desserts and desserts that originate from taiwan, for example, the ever so popular and delicious snow ice! I usually order chocolate nata de coco or the green tea red bean one, but today I decided to try the lychee flavor! It was not to my liking because the lychee tasted quite artificial and the flavor burst balls were a little too sour. Price: $3.50

First post on OpenRice! I shall start with my favorite dessert stall in my neighborhood, and my favorite dessert from this place - Mango Pomelo sago ice! The staff are friendly and the place is usually clean with enough sitting place. Good for catch up with friends and families. Mango pomelo is one of its most popular items, besides shaved ice which I will include in the next post, and very suitable on hot and humid days in our sunny island.

My friends and I decided to try some desserts as we chanced upon Desserts House. The menu looks interesting and I tried the mango jelly dessert. They gave a huge portion of mango and aloe vera which made me very pleased. The lime added gave a refreshing taste to the ice jelly. We would patronize the stall again soon.

We had the yam cake and the "yang zhi gan lu". It is a type of cold dessert where you will find mango puree topped with lots of mango fruits and pomelo fruits. Your taste buds will enjoy the full flavours of the dessert as it was both sweet and sour. It was indeed a very refreshing dessert and one of my all time favourites. A must try for those who love mango. Their yam cakes and carrot cakes are not bad. Now they even sell snow ice. So do drop by and give it a try.
