I do not eat hot dessert, hence I always go for their steam yam cake, steam pumpkin cake and steam carrot cake... surprisingly it is very nice.. The ingredients, is very generous, texture is quite soft and taste great... this is the yam cake which is my favorite out of all, with chunk of real yam etc... fragrant and tasty. the sweet sauce enhance the taste of the yam cake too.. Chee cheong fun taste normal though. continue reading

This shops sells a range of traditional chinese desserts like red bean with lotus seed, sesame paste, walnut paste, almond paste as well as shaved ice.I had a bowl of Mango Pomelo Sago dessert which is a cold dessert. It has cubes of mango, pomelo and sago served with crushed ice. It was not too sweet or sour and great for a hot day. I saw they sell walnut paste which is not so commonly sold in hawker center. I bought a bowl of walnut paste as takeaway. The walnut paste look like liquid peanut butter but was very smooth and velvety, not a hint of burnt taste. Sweetness level was just right. It only cost $3 a bowl. Definitely going back for this Walnut Paste which is good for the brain. continue reading

I still dont very like the ice from dessert story, because it is too sweet for me.But it is quite big in amount. So it is quite worth. The cappuccino taste is not bad. Quite fresh. But after eat half bowl,i really feel bored because there are not much of adding ingredients. It just have ice and some choco chips. If there are other topping it will be better. But this ice really save me from the hot day. continue reading

Not my favorite dessert shop, this shop sells a variety of hot and cold desserts. This bowl of dessert comes in both hot or cold and though I have ordered a hot bowl of dessert, the dessert that was served was lukewarm. The owner is generous in its portion of chestnut and corn and taste generally pleasing. However, I find the taste a tad bland and thus I might not like to try it again. continue reading

Mango sago is really refreshing on a warm day. It cools the body temperature with it’s refreshing mango flavor and the fine shaved iced. I like the tapos (made of jelly) as it enhances the taste of the dessert. Dessertstory is conveniently located at Tiong Bahru Plaza. It costs around $4 for a bowl of it. continue reading
