Though Din Tai Fung has been around for awhile but there is somehow always a queue during the peak periods and weekends. I guess you can never go too wrong with Din Tai Fung as the menu is pretty standard with the occasional feature dishes such as chocolate Xiao Long Bao or Red Bean rice dumplings, which i find are pretty good and do add an interesting twist to the usual flavours. The food quality here is rather consistent and prices are reasonable which perhaps explains the perpetual queue.One

Was here on a tuesday night and there was already a long queue at 7pm, Had to queue for around 30 minutes before we are able to get our table. Ordered the prawn pancake, xiao long bao, fried rice and the shrimp wanton noodles. Everything on the table was great and it was simply one of the best meal that i had recently. have an early dinner with friends at din tai fung, and we were so enjoyed chit chatting there!The noodle there is handmade, very chewy and springy, and the texture is definitely better than machine made one. I prefer the mushroom gravy noodle, the dan dan noodle is less nice, and the spicy noodle is normal, not enough spicy. the spicy wanton is nice, spicy and sour, so it's very appetizing.

Love the XLB's Here!!! It is juicy and the soup inside the XLBs literally melts in your mouth. The meat is also really tender and juicy! They also have this crab pao thing which is rather heavenly as well! Would also recommend the Zha Jiang Mian and the Fried Rice! Very delicious and quite heavenly!!Highly recommended to try!!

I tried a new dish at Din Tai Fung today, a deviation from the normal xiao long bao and mian.Its the Vermicelli Soup with Deep fried beancurd skin and minced meat ball ($7.80). For that price (cheaper than most noodle dishes from Din Tai Fung which normally range between 8-11 bucks), i can't really complain when all that was served was glass noodles, with tao pok slices, and minced meat wrapped in beancurd skin. Although Din Tai Fung restaurant is suppose to be really good with their fine cooking on their noodles, soup, dim sums and other chinese dishes. I find that their steamed baos are quite poor in standard as was really quite shock to it. Tried their red bean baos and was quite upset with it. The bun's texture is really tough and not chewy. The fried pork chop rice is mouth-watering. The pork chops are chewy and not fried till burnt. The pork chops are not too salty and are very tender. When eaten together with the fried rice, the flavours match so well together. Children would like this dish, as some children would only like fried food and not with rice. However, this dish will suit the children alot.

The service was quick, efficient and friendly. I was surprised. Maybe it's because I was by myself and was easy to seat as opposed to others who are in big groups. I love their chilli pork dumpling in vinegar thing. It just tastes so good I can't stop eating it!
