I went to din tai fung with my girlfriend’s family for dinner the other day. We ordered quite a number of dishes like the zha jiang mian, xiao long bao, egg fried rice. but out of all the dishes we ordered, I found their chilli oil dumpling really good. I love the sourness of the vinegar mixed together with the chilli oil. The dumpling is very juicy and has a lot of fillings. overall it was quite spicy but went well with the fried rice. I strongly recommend this dish.

I am always a truffles fans! Finally I got the chance to try out the black truffles xiao long bao at Din Tai Fung. It comes in 5 xiao long bao per tray. From the outside, you can easily see a black patch of black truffles inside. After you bite on the dumpling, the black truffles is just sitting on top of the minced meat. Very generously big! But to my surprise, the aroma of the truffles ain't very strong even I chew on it.. perhaps they use different grade's. Anyway, the truffles flavour does b

But to my surprise, the aroma of the truffles ain't very strong even I chew on it.. perhaps they use different grade's. Anyway, the truffles flavour does blend in pretty well with the xiao long bao's soupy gravy. Quite a pleasant combination I would say!

I was here for lunch on a lazy sunday afternoon with my girlfriend.
Surprisingly the lunch queue was not very long, and I waited for a good 15 minutes before getting my seats.
After that, we proceeded to order their signature Xiao Long Bao, fried rice with prawn and dan dan noodles.

I love all the 3 dishes! The Xiaolongbao comes in 10s, and it's really delicious because the skin foldings are thin, and you can easily bite through it and savor up the soup. Furthermore, the fried rice with prawn was heavenly, however, I did notice that that day's fried rice wasn't up to its usual standard, as usually the prawns would be superbly crunchy. Also, I love the dan dan noodles, where you can taste the strong sesame and peanut taste. Absolutely heavenly, and does not need any meat inside to compliment it.

The price is value for money!

For ladies - your gotta love the fact that they offer a small little 'trolley' for you to put your bag in it, and cover it with a cloth... this way, the ladies bag is off the way, and not subjected to food dropping on it. Great!
Also, the tea comes free-flow, and the waitresses/waiters are very attentive to your needs.
