Shrimp Xiao Long Bao ($7.50++/6pcs)
Although it looks similar to the usual Xiao long bao, it tastes drier than the usual original ones. There is a lack of soup in some of the Xiao long bao. Maybe the shrimp meat is unable to absorb the soup.

Black Sesame Buns ($3.60++/ 3pcs)
Similar to the small sized lotus paste pau, it tastes soft and smooth.

Overall there is hits and misses in the new menu. Still have room for improvement.

My all time favourite prawn fried rice.. It is the best fried rice in my opinion. The prawn is so succulent and big. Definitely worth the price. The Xiao long Bao is not bad but can be better. The prawn siew mai is bad, as the skin is VERY Thick. The fried prawn cake is nice, crispy, hot and fresh. My favourite item too. You will never go wrong with din tai fung!

The rest of the main dish like Xiao Long Bao, Pork Chop Fried Rice etc are pretty much the same except for the service here. I am not sure whether is it because of the crowd that resulted in the drop of service as compared to other outlets. Was pretty upset with the poor service and have not step into Resorts World Sentosa's outlet since.

In my opinion, another must try of Ding Tai Fung's dishes. Hand-made noodles with a bowl of superior chicken broth. If I didn't went to China and tasted how a good bowl of noodles should taste like a few years ago, Then I would have easily said that Ding Tai Fung's noodles is easily the best noodles I've ever tasted!

Hand-made noodles always tasted better than machine is because of how the chef imparts his/her love into the food as compared to a machine...

So what's for desserts?

Yes, you're right! Xiao Long Bao again! But this basket is a sweeter version. They used yam paste instead minced meat... It was like just eating orr nee (Teochew version of Yam Paste) encased in thin dough. It was excellent! Do note that one XLB is missing from the picture because SOMEONE just has to pluck one out before I could take a snapshot! Tsk!

Well, that's Din Tai Fung at Resort World Hotel (RWS) to begin with. Some may say that Crystal Jade's XLB are way better. But then again why compare? To each our own that's what I say.

Decided to head over to din tai fung at the resort world sentosa outlet for our dinner. It was my first time dining there and i must really say the food is good. At one look at the menu, it actually does not looks like there are many variety of food, but it actually kept us thinking for a little while on what to order. The staffs there were mainly from china or philipines, and there were friendly and refilled our hot tea frequently without us calling out to them.

The wait here is formidable, but something that the front counter seems to have gotten it down to a well run Operation. Yes, you do have to wait but at least they make sure that you don't have to suffer needlessly. You are also asked to order in advance, so that by the time you are brought to your table about 30~45 mins later, you can pass them the order.

This is my second Din Tai Feng outing in Singapore and while I will say that it has yet to hit a Michelin Star as its Shanghai Counterpart. It is not that bad. Neither am I full of praise for this outlet as well.

Lets just say that the craft of Soup Dumpling (小笼包) making is of an acceptable standard. It is neither a disaster nor a masterpiece. Production line artisan is what I can compare it to.

The food is of a rather acceptable standard. Not particularly standing out nor is there any glaring fault 1 can pick at.

It is a place that I will go to for a dependable standard of food, and that it is probably worth a revisit if 1 can manage to get in when they are not so overwhelmed.

The Siew Mai (烧卖) is rather well done and their vegetable dumpling is rather nice coming from someone who is a meat lover.

Amazing flavourful drunken chicken. Cold, tender, fresh and delicious! Sichuan sliced beef is soft and juicy! I love the way it taste. Ordered a soup as well. Steam pork rib soup and i find it normal, nothing to rave about. All in all, the entire experience was great with friendly staffs!

Hmm…. I don’t really like the egg fried rice they sell at this branch. I was quite disappointed because I heard that their fried rice is delicious however.... that was not what I tasted. The fried rice is very plain and everything. However, I think that it is because there were too many people at the time I ordered. The thing I like about Din Tai Fung was their takeaway box. It is very convenient for people with microwaves and it is recyclable.

I believe most people will agree with me that Din Tai Fung is the place where one can find delicious xiao long bao. But besides xiao long bao, there are many dishes which one should try too. Dumplings in red chili oil and vinegar - This looks oily and hot but it is not as as oily and hot as it seems, probably due to the vinegar, which I think makes the sauce kinda special and needless to say, tasty too!

Century eggs - This tastes like the one which I tried in HK, Yung Kee restaurant. Simply just melts in the mouth!

However, I feel that the service can be improved. Though it is a Chinese restaurant, there are quite a number of waitresses who can't speak Mandarin.
