I wanted something more filling so I went ahead and ordered the normal fried rice from this zi char stall. The waiting time is quite alright, I got my rice in less than 10 minutes. Based on my understanding, if you ordered the salted fish fried rice, it would cost 50 cents more. The normal fried rice costs $4. The fried rice is quite nice, adequately flavoured. I also felt that the rice is what we call in chinese "li li fen ming", but that also means that there is quite a lot of oil used in frying the rice. Although the taste is good, the ingredients are quite minimal, and this would make me think twice about ordering fried rice from them again. continue reading

If there is a stall in Singapore that i am the most frequent amongst all my meals... it would have to be this stall... Located 5 minutes from my block, this place offers a wide range of Tze Char dishes...The dish: Sambal Chicken Fried Rice with egg and less oilThe reason why i order chicken fried rice is because i do not favour the normal shrimp and mixed vegetables simply because it is very sweet and sweet rice with shrimp don't go so well for me... So, the dish i usually will order is the Sambal Chicken Fried Rice and for extra kick, i will get the egg as well.... The taste: Simply awesome.. though depending on the cook sometimes it can be a bit bland. However, it you make it that awesome the yolk will break and when mixed with rice... Ooohh that will be a whacker..The price: $6.20.. well this is costly but i have to say that once in a looooooooooon while you have to indulge... and i do not order this quite frequently because its very sinful. continue reading
