With lots of chocolate crumbs on top, it has made me to choose this bun which has a name called Chocolenu. I have never seen this type of bun in our local bakery shop as it is quite unique. Taste wise has a nice soft and fluffy texture with an aromatic chocolate taste. As for the crumbs, it is not too loose and is quite compact. During this Halloween season, Donq has introduced a few Halloween theme bread and buns to celebrate the occasion. I was particularly attracted to this bun that is shaped like a pumpkin. It was described as 'a green tea flavoured bread with pumpkin custard filling'. This is a relatively new bakery at the basement of Takashimaya!! So how's the bread here? I only tried 2 types this time.Quite pricey... just these 2 already cost $5.20. I think the bread here are seriously overpriced.Spinach sausage bun, one of their best-sellers but I didn't really like it... a bit sick of sasuage bun.I prefer this one - apple sweet potato bun with almond nuts. Nice! It is not too sweet too!

this place was full of amazing breads and i didn't know which to choose.my cousin loves that triangular cheese one while i like the matcha azuki roll.not cake guys. this was bread.the matcha fragrance was evident. the red beans were crunchy and sweet. but at a dollar a slice, i couldn't afford to eat this all the time.

Donq has really good breads and pastries. The adzuki red bean bun is my favorite. The red bean filling is just sweet enough with a nice clear distinct flavour of cooked red beans. The flavour of the beans really shines with no other competing flavours so you really taste the pure taste of the red beans. The bun is soft and fluffy holding up well to the filling, and complementing it well.

This place is a very popular Japanese style at basement food hall of Takashimaya Singapore. Prices is a bit higher compare to nearby bakeries in Takashimaya. The bakery offers a number of unique Japanese French style creations which I have a hard choosing. Chocolenu ($2.80)The top looks reminds me of apple crumble, but the bottom looks like a bun. Not very chocolate. Taste wise good.

Donq is one of my fav bread store,actually i wanna get their signature bread,which was the matcha azuki roll but i find it too expensive so i bought other instead The crust was nice,inside is custard & berry,it tasted normal.i like this bread,their bread texture was really soft,also not very sweetprice range a bit expensive but worth the priceOverall i rate 8/10

I love donqs breads and pastries! The buns are all soft and fluffy and the variety of flavours offered are never ending! One of my favourites is the chocolate boule which is filled with pieces of dark chocolate! Extremely intense flavours captured within a soft light and fluffy bun. The cheese paripari is also delicious, and makes for a great afternoon snack!

Finally had a chance to sample yet another one of their signature breads that tend to sell out quickly: Chocolate Boule. It is essentially a soft, fluffy bun packed with copious amount of chocolate. The bread has a dark brown colour, thanks to the chocolate blended into the flour dough and you can still spot some chocolate chips/pieces suspended in the final product. Inside the heart of the bread, you will find a nice dense dark chocolate filling which completes the awesome chocolately package.

tried their kouign amann, which is a breton cake. this cake is picking up on popularity as more bakeries are making it now. have tried only a few different ones. the one at donq is pretty good. the one at tiong bahru is pretty bad. but good or bad, all the sugar and butter makes up for it and you just crave more and more of the richness of this pastry. the one here is quite addictive! about $5

They sells alot of variety of bread and i was attracted there by the crowd at that area. It is at some small corner of basement Takashimaya food hall! And i walk round the shope to search for the best seller bread and one that looks tempting. And i saw this bread which is stated that it is their best seller. Indeed it was good and there's redbean, matcha and some sugar icing around the bread. It is called Matcha Tiger Roll for about $4+ Yummy !!

Love love love this new bakery. It's a Japanese/French fusion that's done very well! The service is very friendly and helpful. The breads/pastries are fantastic. Quite competitively priced, but not cheap either. The quality if fantastic. I have to say it is much better than Tiong Bahru Bakery by Gontran Cherrier! Everything has the right sweetness and flakiness. And so fresh! And the pastries do not go soggy even when you takeaway and have it hours later.

Don Q Bread Shop - Attractive packaging. A famous bread shop with a long history in Japan is in Singapore.Green Tea Rasin Roll, it is so tasty that you can eat it plain but topping it with a butter spread is great!Plain loaf bread - can taste that the quality of the flour is good. Have it toasted and you can have a toasted crust with a soft centre bread. Toasted or untoasted with vegtable, ham and cheese or just vegetable and cheese is a great start for the day.
