Had it for breakfast on the next morning! It's not the super soft kind of bread but has a nice chewy texture to it. Love the cranberry in it! It's quite a big portion that i end up having it for both breakfast and lunch.

Will definitely go back again as I'm keen to try something else - cranberry cheese! This time i will go earlier =)

Duke Bakery from Taiwan has recently opened an outlet in Singapore. It is known for its healthy baked breads. As it is almost closing for the day, there is not much variety of breads available on the shelves for sale. Most of the breads also have samples for one to try. But still I have managed to get myself the Crown Signature Artisan Bread which costs $5.50 each. It is like 5 buns joined together, and made of grape ferment and rye power, with inside filled lots of cream cheese. It tastes soft

I like that it have huge amounts of cream cheese inside. My favourite.

This Taiwanese bakery shop, which sells Japanese-European style artisan bread, have quite a range of different types of bread and I took awhile to decide and finally got the garlic baguette and lychee bread. A look at the inside. I regretted buying the lychee loaf as it didn't had much taste except for the parts that had lychee and walnut in it which were not many. The bread was also hard. The garlic baguette tasted better but still, it is very average and both of the bread was certainly not worth the price! I guess I made a wrong choice and anyway, I heard their chocolate cream cheese bread is good!

Happy to won VIP pass to witness the opening.
Never expect so crowded before it is open.

First time to be VIP is such a wonderful thing as first hand to taste the bread before it is open to public.

The bread is very chewy & best fresh bake from oven.

Carlbell- A must to order. A healthy bread as it has cranberry.
Chocolate Bun- the filling(chocolate) is a lot and it is not sweet.
Crown- First bite you can taste the cream cheese it is the best for cheese lover.
Pizza Onion Toast- The onion taste is very strong with generous ham. A special way to eat pizza with chewy bread.

Conclusion: Love the bread as it is very chewy and the filling is generous.

Overall the bread tasted plain.

There are a total of 60 different types of breads freshly baked daily to serving their customers. They stated that they use the freshest ingredients to ensure the best quality delivered. They have insisted in using the yeast extracted from fermented fruits to give the natural flavors to their breads.

Like most artisan breads, the prices are higher ranging from $3.30 to $8.50. The good thing is tasting is allowed right there to help you decide which bread to buy. You could find big pieces of different type of breads with toothpick attached placed in plastic containers for tasting purpose.

After tasted quite a few, i settled for Signature Crown, Chocolate Buns (5 pieces in a bag) at $4.50, Carlbell at $6.60 and Swiss Chocolate at $3.30.

Signature Crown is one of the recommended items promoted as one of the Four Kings. Thus, this is a definite must try. It has a beautiful crown shape nicely formed by 5 buns that contained of generous filling of cream cheese. This was given in the goodie bag so i have no clue of its price but this would likely be the new found love for cream cheese lover like myself. The texture of bread has a delightful chewiness together with a noticeable softness. It still tasted so good even after left it for hours and refrigerated. I tried heating it lightly in the oven to give it a slight warmth and i still enjoyed it.

A bag of 5 Chocolate Buns is affordably priced at $4.50. This is another item in the range of Four Kings. I'd think this is a must eat particularly for chocolate lovers. I could taste the good quality chocolate used as part of the ingredients to bake these lovely Chocolate Buns. The texture is rather fluffy and moist within with a ball of chocolate and cocoa filling in it. The rich chocolate taste is simply irresistible.

Swiss Chocolate. A beautifully looking bun for $3.30 topped with bits of walnuts. This is a simple bun with delightful fluffiness though it is without filling but it still tasted pretty good on its own. If i have to choose between this and Chocolate Buns, i would go straight for Chocolate Buns without much hesitation.

Carlbell is my most favourite listed as part of the Four Kings. This is quite a big bread for $6.60. It is of a substantial size to have it for lunch or even for dinner. The sourness of the dried cranberry incorporated nicely with the light sweetness of the cream cheese to surprise your taste bud pleasantly.

NOTE: Re-visited on 31 October 2013 (Thursday) at about 2.30 pm. The shelves were almost empty. When checked with the staff on the next batch of Carlbell, i was told there's only a batch per day. I felt a certain amount of efforts should be put in to ensure there is enough supply to meet the demand particularly when there is an on-going promotion of 20% discount store wide from 28 October to 4 November 2013.

Passed by again after dinner at 7.30pm, breads are sold out!

I was interested to check them out as i was curious whether their low sugar, low fat concept makes their bread any difference in taste and texture than our common breads.

Their shop is located right beside the entrance for the shopping mall. When i was there, their display racks were mostly empty beside the ones located in the centre of the shop as there were a sizable crowd piling their own trays with lots of breads. I notice that all their breads are of loaf sizes and they do not have any individual buns sold like those in our existing bakeries. They were thoughtful in providing tasting sample beside most of their display bread to allow people to be sure that they like the flavour before buying.

I bought one of their signature bread called 'Carlbell', which has cranberries and cream cheese in it. It's original price is about $6+ if i am not wrong. It was definitely chewier than those commonly sold sweet bread, and i think a little chewier than the other european breads that i have tried before. The taste was nothing to shout about, just ordinary. The bread was quite long, shaped like a neck rest. The cranberries inside was not well spread, so some parts of the bread has quite a few pieces while another part has none at all. Overall, a decent bread but nothing extraordinary.

I am glad to at least try their bread once, but my preference goes to the softer kind of breads. Do try them if you prefer chewier artisan breads.
