For people who wish they were in Taiwan should head to Eat @ Taipei for some Taiwanese cuisine and vibe.The restaurant at Jcube boost some pretty decent decor with wooden chairs and oriental lightings. Passed by this restaurant which is next to the ice skating rink. Sometimes quite packed during lunch time but at 4+ there is no queue, so decided to try it. Ordered the sesame oil chicken vermicelli. The soup is very oily and seems like the entire vermicelli is soaked in OIL. The soup or OIL is served luke-warm with some sides which doesn't taste good either. This Eat at Taiwan eatery always had a queue during meal times.I always had my Taiwan snacks at Shilin Taiwan Kiosk. So I decided to give this restaurant a try.I had ordered Taiwan Oyster Mee Sua, the menu shown its a all time favourite.When the dish arrived, I was kind of disappointed.At $7 for this Oyster Mee Sua, you would expect to be a big bowl or with many osyters.However, all I can see was only less than five osyters.The mee sua tasted like bee hoon in soup, not to my liking.

The highlight was the aromatic and tender pork bellies which wasn’t overly fatty. The rice was nice and fluffy and matched well with the gravy which was robust with spices. The additional pickles were crunchy and mildly spicy and complemented the rice well too. However, the braised egg was a tad dry but it’s sufficiently infused with the flavors of braising stock.

The first thing you will notice is: just how big this beef bento set is. Is it meant for two persons instead of one? Deciding that this is worth the cost of $16, I merrily chomped on. The beef slices are at times too tough and does requires tenacious willpower, plus a serving of onion & capsicum to down them. The sides of cherry tomatoes/carrots/lettuce help to balance the meaty savoury taste left in your mouth. Overall, you will feel full after this meal, if you can finish it all up!

French Fries are oily and unhealthy. They also do not taste good, full of starch. My friend introduce me to this eatery, Eat At Taipei at JCube. She recommended a healthy alternative dish to French Fries, Radish Chips. Although the radish chips was deep fried, it was none at all oily. It was cripsy on the outside and airy moist inside. The radish chips also taste sweet naturally, not sugar added.
