The first look at the restaurant is.. Oh! Is that Naruto's Sasuke and Sakura on the restaurant? Hence, I call it the Otaku japanese restaurant. The environment is pretty beautiful and jap, I love the wooden furnitures! Eating there with my friends were fun and we chat and enjoyed looking around the restaurant and wondering whether the ladder does lead up to an entrance of the roof. The food there was alright, I had chicken with tempura. I enjoyed my meal nonetheless but felt it could have been better as well. continue reading

Went to ebiboshi with a friend and all I can say is that it is overated...So what if it has up-to-date technology such as touch-pen ordering and such? My friend and I had a hard time trying to figure out how to order. We also had a hard time trying to signal for a waitress to take our orders as they are all out of sight..Ordered shoyu ramen and all I can say is that IT IS TOO SALTY. It's really salty and you can get sick of it after a few mouthfuls.. GAH. Did not finish it in the end. The ramen also tastes cheap.Guess I should predicted this when there's only 2 - 3 customers at that point of time... continue reading

This was my second visit, the first time round I fell completely in love with their steamboat. But this time round hmmm...We had the Paitan with collagen and chicken soup base. The first time round I had some Japanese soup base which was sweet and I wanted to had it this time round but just couldn't get the right name of the soup base even with the helped of the staff.Still nice, but not as nice as the first time round I came. One thing I noticed was that there's no food display that we could help ourself with. Everything was now ordered and served, the first time round they only controlled the meat and you could help yourself with the rest. There's no dessert too, maybe it was lunch...And yah, there's 2 hours limit for the steamboat. So if you have gathering, this is not a place I would recommend. The first time I went which was on a weekday this place was very crowded with long queue outside and you really have to make a reservation.Setting: 4/5Service: 4/5 (Service was prompt.)Parking: 4/5 (Weekdays, -1 if it is weekends.)Menu: 5/5 (If you want to eat some sushi or some don etc there is Tsubohachi, steamboat is under Tora Shabu and there's dessert too under Sweet brothers. All under one roof of Ebisboshi Shotengai.)Taste: 4/5Price: 3/5The bill was $40+ after $8.80 discount.*No photo taking was allowed in the restaurant which I was guilty of! continue reading

I love steamboats and I must say I'm a huge fan. Well, then what do you say to sitting down on a nice couch, in an air-conditioned place, and being served by frenchmaids? I would think it's a dream come true for under $20 nett per person. i.e., $15++ for students! They have seafood (crabs, scallops no less), meat (beef, pork, chicken) and other random stuff like veggies, sausages, etc! You must experience it for yourself. Their soup base is fantastic, spicy miso, miso, paitan! And some other i forgot, but its really worth the price! continue reading

Was there for lunch and tried the Unagi Rice.It is a very unique "Japanese Claypot rice"They will cook only when ordered and it takes at least 20 minutes to be ready. Hence it is definitely not for the hungry customers. But the rice is very well done, with just enough water to gives it a nice texture. The Hokke FIsh has a very fishy smell. Luckily, it has a lemon to ward off the fish smell. Other than that, it is actually a very tasty big fish. Well grilled, you can taste the freshness without the fishy smell. continue reading
