With 7 food theatres, more than 10 culinary food style and special themed nights, one is definitely in for a feast! Delectable cuisine ranges from Asian, Pacific and with a cross of cuisines all over the region. Special occasion calls for a special celebration, came here with my family to celebrate our parents' birthday (a significant year).

Upon arrival at Edge, we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff, whom without hesitation, showed us to our table after we identified our reservation. Impressive.
Before my indulgence at any buffet, I will browse through on what's offered and oriented a little. Once that's done, my first station will be SEAFOOD!
Apart from my virtual encounter of Alaskan King Crab on the TV series "Deadliest Catch" and those at Boat Quay, this is my first at a buffet priced at $68++.
Compared to the Alaskan Snow Crab, the King Crab tasted a little less fibrous than the former.
Range of Sushi was limited as compared to my visit at The Line, however, provision of quality Salmon Sashimi was all that mattered.
After seafood, I will move on to cooked/roasted segments that are heavier on the palates.
Tried out the Roast Lamb Leg (tasted flat) and Roasted Sirloin (medium doneness and tender). Despite my Dad's strong preference of doneness to be "well done", he enjoyed it thoroughly.
Other "misc" items which I had were Satay, Sambal Crayfish (relatively fresh), Black Pepper Crab and Garlic Naan.
Lastly, the crazy assortment of desserts! Chocolate fondue, cakes, cookies, ice cream and waffles, you name it you have it.

If you are looking for an affordable International Buffet in a Hotel with quality service and food, Edge is one of the better choices.

Our favourite dish is pan seared Foie Gras. Loved the presentation style of the dish. The foie gras is soft & can be served with or without a small piece of bread together with a slice of super sweet orange. Heavenly taste though very sinful for those who are watching your weight

Duck Ravioli with truffle sauce is my favourite too. The sauce was really thick & yummy with flavourful duck meat fillings. The portion was small (only 2 ravioli in a bowl), which is what we wanted so that we had capacity to try more of others!
The Live Grill station is a must try. Their Ohmi Wagyu is to die for, that almost melt in the mouth palate experience! Grilled Pork Collar was good as well as it was very tender. Oh yes, I must higlight that there was also the normal Wagyu beef cut other than the grilled version, however we found them dry & tough. So, probably give that a miss & proceed straight to the live grill station instead! Remember to try the thick, long & flavourful sausages as well!
We love their dessert spread as well. Though I am not a sweet tooth person, but just by looking at the colourful spread of desserts, it really made me smile =)
There were the usual chocolate fondue, mini cupcakes, tarts, icecream, truffle chocolates, waffles, macarons etc. The pretty bluish candy crush mini cakes really caught my eyes. The colours were vibrant & were very well liked by kids.
We love the sticky mango glutinous rice. Chewy glutinous rice with generous mango slices drizzled with sweet, thick syrup. Oh my, I am salivating as I thought of the dessert spread again

Overall, we really had a wonderful & cozy dinning experience at the Edge. We will definitely come back for their weekend brunch buffet again. Thumbs up for their spread of food & excellent staff services.

This was pre-fried though and merely heated up, so not as crispy as freshly fried from the wok. Can probably give this a miss.

Grill Station

We were given wooden stick with our table number, which we passed to the chef at the Grill Station. Once cooked, it would be served to us.

Tried the grilled beef and pork. Cooked to perfection!

Because it was Valentine's Day, the dessert station was so dainty and sweet, mostly in pastel colour in pink & purple. Everyone was trying to take pictures here, as the sweet stuff made the perfect background!

Pink fondue! Have you seen anything like that?

I loved the pink fondue which tasted like Pocky Strawberry and it tasted perfectly with the strawberries which were all so sweet. I must had eaten at least a good 5 or 6 strawberries.

The durian puree was not displayed out at the dessert station. But the staff serving at our seating area recommended it to us, saying that this is their popular dessert and he was really nice to help me to request from the chef. Thumbs up for his service.

The verdict for the durian puree? Really devilicious, so wickedly good that I was trying to finish it even though my stomach was already protesting! You can really savour the mao shan wang meat yet it was creamy enough. I'm missing it while typing now... >.<

Overall, I think the spread is really good and I wish I have a bigger stomach size to try everything!

The sashimi is so fresh and it is thickly cut and very delicious. In my photo I had salmon and swordfish. Than I went on to the seafood section and ate lots of fresh oysters, crayfish and prawns. Followed by cold cut section to have some ham with their many variety of freshly baked bread with my soup. Than I went on to explore cooked food section which have Indian , Chinese, Italian and Greek cuisines. There is also a meat grill section whereby the chef will cut freshly grill mea for you. Super delicious. After the hot food I went to have desserts. I love the chocolate fondue with strawberry and mash mellow. The dessert variety is many, cakes, waffles, ice cream etc. total spending $80.

I'm just not sure if it is worth just going there to eat unless you're an in-house guest and your room includes breakfast, as it costs $46 ($56 after ) per pax on its own. Its almost too luxurious for breakfast.

I went on weekend and it was approximate 65++, about 70+, close to $80 per pax. It may be expensive but well worth the price

The sashimi section was very limited for lunch. The kajiki (sword fish) sashimi was good, the salmon was just average, similar to other buffets and definitely not the best. I went back for a second helping of kajiki w/o the salmon. Really nice!

There wasn’t much to pick in the sushi section so I just picked 1 maki (one of my friends liked the inari aburaage sushi though). That’s quite similar in other buffets as well. In Equinox I would pick a unagi (eel) & a ika (squid) sushi, and in One Ninety I had smoked duck but that’s about it.

The Laksa at the Chinese station was very good – gravy was excellent only regrets no “hum” ie cockles. I also took a slice of roast duck (very crispy skin & flavourful), and also 1 slice of roast chicken (good but ordinary, the ginger sauce was good).

I did not take any from the Malay/Peranakan station. There was a beef rendang and my friend thought the steamed rice (basmati) was “super aromatic”. I took 1 stick each of beef & mutton satay (above right photo). One friend thought the mutton satay was very good, but for me, I think it was kind of average. There was no pineapple sauce with the satay gravy.

There was salmon and grilled aussie beef tenderloin (medallion) at the Western station. I asked the station chef who replied that the beef were medium to medium well. I ordered rare & he grilled on the spot for me. It was super (top photo) – very sweet, tender, flavourful, well beyond my expectation of buffet main courses, even though tenderloin not my favourite.

I skipped most of the Italian station – the pasta, pizza & pork rib. My friend who bought lunch thought the rib was good & healthy lean. the other friend thought it was too dry. The 1 item I thought was excellent was the roasted pork. I had 3 slices!

Not forgetting the cold Entree station. I took 4 oysters (very sweet) & 2 scallops (good). The station chef told my friend the orange ones were female & tasted better than the all-white male ones. :-) I skipped the prawns but took the prawn salad – it was kind of limited selection.

The dessert station was quite ordinary, and included chocolate fountain & nonya cakes. The ambience was great. There was good drinks like calamansi juice with sour plum, very good coffee and also tea selection. It was a fun lunch, food & company as we tried out a new place. At S$43.50pax after 25% discount, would I come back though? regrettably answer is no or very unlikely!

It was indeed a wonderful experience to be dining at Edge, Pan Pacific Hotel. I was there with my family for a celebration. This place was totally new to me as I have not been here for at least 5 years. My uncle and aunt made the reservations.

The first impression you get as you are being welcome was the warm and friendly greeting of the service staff and followed by the big and spaciousness of the restaurant.

The ambience was really great with a nicely dimmed and romantic atmosphere. We were briefly introduced to the new concept of the buffet that boasts a wide range and good spread of items from local fanfare to Japanese to popular local dishes as well as a wide assortment of western meals such as roasts and pizzas. I was very much impressed by the dedication of the staff to introduce us the use of "ordering sticks" that indicated our table number which we can conveniently use it to place an order at the cooking station for any dish. Once the item is prepared, the chef will let the service staff bring the item to our table without us having to walk and wait around.

The food such as chilli crayfish and black pepper crayfish are a definitely must try. The spread of seafood is nice and very fresh; freshly shuck oysters, fresh and large prawns, large succulent mussles, snow crabs and not forgetting the beautiful scallops on ice. Freshness is guranteed as each time the items were laid out, they get grabbed off so fast within seconds! So you have to act really fast like sonice speed to grab the freshness before they are gone at the turn of the eye.

The pizzas are so adorable that each of them are about the size of your palm with 3 different flavours to choose from. I ordered all 3; perperoni, ham and 3 cheeses and carbonara. All of them are really thin crusted and in tiny bite size so if you share it, it will still allow lots of room to try other items.

Service staff was very attentive and fast in clearing up used plates and our tables were kept clean and neat at all times even when the place is packed with the dinner diners. Tables are spreaded out in a nice distance to provide absolute comfort and privacy to each group of diners and I find that totally well thought of.

I was most impressed by the wonderful spread of dessert which provided very interesting and really delectable selection of chocolate truffles and cakes. Though it wasn't a large selection but it was a fine selection. The Raspberry Truffle chocolate was really yummy and so are the blueberry cheesecake and mango mousse. My family and I sat there for like hours and yet we felt so comfortable that we don't even know time flies.

If you are thinking of bringing that special someone or spending a nice evening with your family, this is a place to go. Nice ambience, good food and well thought service. Wonderful! I will definitely bring my family there again. For the price I would pay to be here, I would definitely say it's worth it.
