Do check out their expanded pasta dishes too! I personally thinks Frutti di Mare (seafood pasta) is not bad at all. Not forgetting their sweets such as Passion Fruit and Banana Soufflé, in my opionion is one of their better dessert thus far. Not so much on the ice cream served with it, you can taste if it's quality ice cream or not.

The main was nothing special and would have probably tasted better should it have been warmer. The meat is well-marinated but the portion was a little too small with the skin forming most of the volume.

However, i must compliment them for the great service. I like how they bow and wear a smile. That is certainly what is lacking in many food chains nowadays.

To sum it up, the set was far from worth it. If i were to visit again, i will try the normal menu rather than the special menu.

I ordered the Grilled Chippolata Sausage set. The name of the sausage sounds unique, however I realised it was just normal grilled sausage. The grilled sausage was juicy and slightly peppery. The salad with sour cream tasted fresh and appetising.

The poached egg tasted fantastic. There poached egg was coated with fragrant herb and buttery sauce, inside was flowing orange yolk.

Overall, the Breakfast set was delicious and affordable, though the portion was slightly small, I could have eaten 2 sets of this breakfast to fill my stomach.

Soft fluffy pancake although it was on the thin side but it still manage to absorb the maple syrup. I will be back to try the mains and burgers.

Veal Sausage & Egg ($12.90)
This comprised of a sausage, scrambled eggs, baked beans , some greens & 3 pieces of pancakes. Every kid's dream plate, light savoury items and pancakes to be enjoyed with 3 different sauces - maple, chocolate & stawberry.

Aglio Olio King River Prawn Pasta ($19.90)
Unlike the picture, which showed a hugh portion of pasta, our portion was however measly. The prawn seems smaller in size too. Taste wise, it is ok. The sous vide eggs was delicately carved, with some patterns on the white.

Pork & Sage Spiked Burger (12.90)
This is a steal at $12.90. A hearty portion of tasty pork patty with egg & lettuce, accompanied with sides of potato wedges & some greens.

Pink Fisk Steak ($19.90)
This is pan fried salmon. WHile alittle dry on the inside, it is actually quite nicely done, as the top & bottom are nicely browned, concentrating the seasoning that goes into it. Served with some greens and a sous vide egg.

Berries Berries ($6.50)
A smoothies made with berries. A refreshing drink !

We will certainly be back to try other items.

The restaurant setting has 2 areas.  The inside is air-conditioner.  The dining table is small.  It can only accommodate 2 persons while the outside has long tables arranged which can arrange up to 6 seaters.
I had Home made Crème brulee ($4.90).  It is one of the cheapest signature dessert.  It is served in a egg shaped glass.  It is good for Easter dessert.  There is a layer of coated sugar on top of the brulee.  Its texture is smooth with its milk, egg and vanilla.  At the base, I find see Almond seed.  I asked the waitress for the bottle of the Almond seed used.  He was helpful to show me the bottle of Almond seed used in the preparation of brulee.
The brulee is not sugar if the layer of sugar coat is not mixture with brulee.  It is a light dessert for afternoon tea.
The restaurant charges GST and service.

I enjoyed this dessert as it was cheap and good.

I received this blueberry cheesecake as a treat! It looked lovely and it was nicely packed. It was a rather small jar of cheesecake. There were blueberry jam atop cheesecake, you can find some whole blueberries too. I am a cheese lover, the cheesecake was not as cheesy as I would love but it was not bad. It would be great if the graham crackers can be more crunchy though.

Latte $5.50
The latte here was more bitter than usual. The level of sweetness was just right after we added a cube of sugar into it. It also brought out the flavour of the latte. I liked how the latte was served really hot so even after some time, it was still a pleasure to drink it. Most cafes serve their coffee moderately warm (probably due to the coffee art?) and it gets unpleasantly cold fast.

Eggs & Berries Eggs Benedict $16.90
Only the eggs were warm and the rosti was slightly warm if not cold. It did not taste like it was freshly made but had been there for a couple of minutes. Marche's version of rosti definitely tastes better although I liked that the rosti wasn't oily here. The egg benedicts were consistently runny. The moment I slitted open the delicate looking egg, the wonderful chunk of egg yolk flowed out perfectly. Besides that, I don't think there's anything to rave about.

Veal sausage & eggs $15.90
Everything wasn't served warm here except for the baked beans (which was quite unexpected as it was surprisingly hot!). Most savoury food taste better when served hot/warm so we were disappointed as it felt like they had been precooked or left there for some time. The scrambled eggs did not taste like the typical rendition of scrambled eggs. The texture resembled more like a failed version - something like scrambled eggs that were not cooked properly were being put and smashed up together (think egg mayo). The mini pancakes on the other hand had a rich buttermilk flavour. Salad was topped with some mayonnaise dressing.

We also had 2 free creme brulee for desserts because of their lunch promotion. They tasted average too. Creme brulee is normally served at room temperature but this was served chilled (probably) because they were all prepared beforehand. The custard was quite smooth and soft, in contrast with the layer of hard yet brittle and really sweet caramelized surface on top.

I won't be coming back any time soon as I feel that the quality of the food is not worth the money. Overall, the meal was a let-down. The menu certainly looks much more enticing and appetizing than the actual food items served. At least we gave it a try so now we know!

Heard the first branch of Eggs and Berries at Changi City Point is not bad, now that it is strategically located all the way to the west nearby where I stayed, I was delighted to head off to the place for a visit. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Leg ($18.90) which consists of a broiled boneless chicken leg, fries and a poached egg. The meat was juicy and tender while the chicken skin was flavoured with Cajun spices. The poached egg was executed nicely just the way it should be. But I wondered how would the egg complement the dish. I ate the egg along with a pancake which I took from my friend's plate haha

My friend had the Steak and Egg ($18.90). The whole plate was an appealing mix of steak, sunny side up, buttermilk pancakes, rosti, baked beans and mixed greens. Everything was near to perfection with the salivating aroma and flavorful gravy sauce.

Eggs and berries serves good decent quality food. The environment with its bright gay vibrancy adds on to a pleasant overall dining experience

Served up in a glass cup, the creamy butternut soup topped with a little milk froth was a mix of sweet and savory. It’s texture is somewhat similar to pumpkin soup, but with a lighter taste. Hardly surprising given that it does bear some resemblance to the pumpkin ( Link)

I had pretty high hopes for this dish after tasting the butternut soup but it turned out disappointing. The duck had a weird liver aftertaste, leaving the 4 of us at the table wondering if it was under cooked or that it just wasn’t fresh enough. Everything else on the plate was good, except the duck. Quite a pity.

This was a great dish. Well cooked salmon with yummy sauce to boot, this is the dish of my choice for the Valentine’s Day menu. Before I forget, the eggs bendict that you see on our plates were gloriously good, it is the signature food item at Eggs & Berries!

The chocolate lava cake had a molten center, but the chocolate wasn’t flowing freely when we cut into it. Such a pity cause it taste really good! If you aren’t picky about it, it is still a darn good dessert to end the meal with.

The boston cream pie came with a small little syringe stuck into it. It contains peach liqueur, which you can have fun injecting it into the cake. Overall the taste was light and refreshing, a good contrast to the lava cake which is heavier in flavor.

SGD 68++ per couple
(Add on SGD11++ for 2 selected couple smoothies)

***

VERDICT

I found the entire meal to be satisfying and considering what Eggs & Berries are offering for their Valentine’s Day menu, it is still pretty affordable compared to other restaurants which are pumping their prices sky-high.

This set lunch will be offered from the 13th – 16th February 2014, so there is no rush for you to have it on the actual valentine’s day itself. I hope you would enjoy this as much as I did.

The creme brulee comes in the a cute egg shape cup. Light and crunchy and a absolute custardy delight! Check out the place the next time you are in the west or in the east.

Saw that they have a valentine's day menu. Looks pretty good and affordable! It fairly packed during dinner time. I would suggest that you make a reservation before heading over to avoid any disappointment.

My boyfriend and I decided to have our breakfast over at the new mall, West gate. We walked thru most of the shops at 9am and mostly are closed hence we looked at the directory and found this place, we decided to give it a try as both of us have not tried this place and the place is fully occupied.

We look at the menu, to my surprise, we are spoiled for choices! There are eggs menu, meat menu and etc. So when we asked for air con seating as it's more comfy but like what I said, they're fully occupied. To an extend that we have to squeeze tables with another couple. Not very happy with this arrangement though. I wished they could be nicer to give us a bigger table.

Looking thru the menu, we decided to order 3 different sets of breakfast and try them out. The portion was okay.

I order their house specialty, as I state, HOUSE SPECIALTY, benedict eggs. I have never expect this out from anything. It was bad, very bad. The rossetti was okay, not that bad however they are not very generous with the cream. Well, putting that aside, it was just 2 pieces of ham, 2 "not very nice" benedict eggs, potato rossetti, and greens. I wasn't impressed AT ALL. I was expecting a "wow" factor. Probably my expectations were too high.

This is probably the best thing I have tried over here. Sharing it with my boyfriend, just egg omelette with bacons, ham and mushroom. This is the genie omelette whereby you can choose the ingredients that can be stuffed inside. It was good, the omelette not too dry, taste a little milky and overall the combinations is okay! I'm glad that I've order this or I will go hungry coming out from the restaurant.

I've to comment alot on this. My boyfriend decided to get their breakfast steak. Well, for the pricing we have paid, I won't be expecting wagyu or even Australian steak. First mistake, when we ordered this meal, the waitresses/waiters didn't take the initiative to ask how well do we want this steak to be. I called the waiter and ask, "for the steak here, we don't get to choose how well it can be done?" Then he asked me how well we wanted, we said, "MEDIUM" I got very mad when they served. It comes with potato rossetti, greens, sunny side up and 3 pancakes. Personally, I take well done steak and my boyfriend takes medium; to my very surprise my boyfriend started to chew and he looked at me. He spit it out and say, this is way too hard. I tried, it's totally WELL DONE. We waited for about 30 mins and this is what we get? I'm trying to be fair, I understand that is very packed with customers and we need to be understanding to wait for our food, yes, I waited. And this is what we get? I called the waitress over and got it change. Fair, I've to wait for another 15 minutes to get it done again. It came withing 20 minutes and know what? The 3 pancakes are missing! I don't know where it went but I requested the waitress to get the pancakes here. What service is this? I paid for service charge and this is what I get? Fine, my boyfriend and I was hoping that the steak is medium this time. GUESS WHAT? It comes in well done again. It's not on the hotplate and I wondered if they understand what's medium. We were very unhappy this time.

We just walked away and get the bills. There are 2 counters and I see waiters chatting away and the manager is having some problem with the cashier. I waited about 10 minutes before they got my bills. It cost about $80 for this meal, to me the money doesn't matters; it's the service and the food I get. I will probably never come back here again and never recommend this place to my friends. I'm sorry but I have never been to a restaurant like this.
