(+) Very tasty, well braised pork ribs, with a well-seasoned gravy drizzled over.(+) The tendons were well-cooked, snaps with each bite and you can have a good crunch!(+) Generous serving of rice, good for the budget conscious looking for a filling meal. (-) Too much rice relative to the serving of ribs.(-) The gravy was slightly diluted, and we believe that if it was more concentrated, it would heighten and enhance the taste of the dish greatly.

Spotted this stall close to the end of a row. Since there was only 1 other customer at the stall, I decided to give healthy Steamed Mushroom Chicken Rice a shot! I was rather taken aback when the stall folks dug out both meat and rice, and served them on a plate! I was rather taken aback when the stall folks dug out both meat and rice, and served them on a plate! When the whole dish was "presented" on the plate, I felt an instant moment of "stupidity" to have ordered what was a load of white rice with a small corner serving of chicken and mushroom. I figured since my rice looked "naked", the stall folks had asked me whether I would want any vegetables to go along with it. And me, being an obstinate fool, chose NOT to, and walked off with my "naked" rice!

To further affirm my stupidity, my colleagues saw what I had ordered and went "HUH???". Well, everything has its 1st time, so I just went with it, bite after bite. What did I find? This dish was surprisingly very tasty!
It was probably due to the sauce or the juice from the chicken and mushroom. And honestly, without ordering additional side dishes, the portion of meat and mushrooms was sufficient (of course, more is always welcomed! Haha!
)! At the end of my meal, I was FULL!!! Good healthy lunch!!!

Guess what? There will be a 2nd visit. Next time, I want to partake more of it!!
Will order additional side dishes to go along!

Total Cost:
Steamed Mushroom Chicken Rice - $2-$3

Whenever I passed by this area, I noticed there was always a long queue infront of this stall. Out of curiosity , I decided to give it a try . I joined in the queue , waited less than 10 minutes . I bought the famous steamed pork rib rice with vegetable added aside. I paid extra $0.50 for it served by the friendly lady boss and her assistants. I loved the tender and juicy pork rib , definitely coming back for more next week. Thumb UP! Value for money too! Affordable price too!

When the dish was being ordered they first remove the meat from the bowl, then mix the rice with the sauce and put everything onto the styrofoam box. You can add the extra side dishes salted fish, salted egg, Chinese sausages, fried vegetables Thai style or extra steam rice. Well I went for extra Chinese sausage and vegetables Thai style. Fragrant is an understatement for this. I had packed this dish for dinner; the smell of the dish keeps seeping out of the box as I ride home making me feeling

Fragrant is an understatement for this. I had packed this dish for dinner; the smell of the dish keeps seeping out of the box as I ride home making me feeling hungry again. When I ate this during dinner time, it was still very fragrant. The pork ribs were tender and savoury most importantly very lean no physical signs of fats hanging out, while the rice was very fragrant and soft. Even as I heat it up in the microwave oven it's still tasted nice, the rice did not stick together. Most importantly there's no heavy oily stains left behind on my bowl. I would say that this is value for money compared to those Hong Kong cafes. I would go back to try the other dishes again.

I did not expect the steamed rice to be served on the plate. It came with big pieces of chinese sausage and chunks of chicken meat. The rice tasted a bit plain. It would be nicer if more sauce is added. The chicken might looked quite boring but it actually tasted quite good. The texture was very tender and tasted flavourful. The chinese sausage was soft too. I enjoyed it with the red cut chillies.

I wanted to try the steamed pork ribs rice from this stall but it was already sold out at 2 pm. I was left with the choice of steamed chicken rice and i decided to try it. The rice was steamed first in a metal bowl before the chicken and Chinese sausage were placed on it. It was then steamed a little longer and left in the steamer. Upon order, they took it out from the steamer. They poured in the sauce to mix it a little with the rice then poured everything onto the plate and served it.

A generous bit of chicken meat served with rice and 2 pieces of Chinese sausage then sprinkled with spring onions to enhance the flavour. The chicken was seasoned lightly and still have its tenderness intact that led to the nice softness of the chicken meat. It would definitely taste better if a little more sauce is added. I shall bear this in mind and to request for more sauce when i come back for their steamed pork ribs rice and double boiled soups the next time.

I enjoyed the pleasing fragrance and the comforting taste of this plate of steamed chicken rice.
