The noodles are springy even though is dry and is served with 2 chillies, sambal chilli and cut chilli padi.
The Price
Reasonably priced at $4.00 per plate (Extra Noodles)
Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this for all Hokkien Prawn Mee dry version!

Though it looked very dry and was not that appetizing initially, I was all wrong. The first mouthful had been very impressive , giving me the "wow" factor. Prawn stock had amplified the taste in which every strand of noodles had absorbed it well. Together, it strike a good balance in the wetness, and its neither dry nor wet. Additionally, a strong wok-hei from both noodle and bee hoon had given an oomph in the dish!

In conclusion, it is one of the best hokkien prawn mee that I have eaten. However towards the end of the meal, it find it a little bit dry.

Read more reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.comThe prawn stock used to imbue the rice noodles with flavour is awesome. Every mouthful is a burst of flavoursome shrimp stock. There's a slight hint of wok hei to this, so the robust shrimp taste is finished off with a rounded smoky essence. It's obvious why the Hokkien Mee ($3) here is very popular, as evidenced by the long queues.

There it is: The famed hokkien prawn mee that everybody praised about...人气第二!! When I first got a look at it, I never thought that it would be this dry...Seriously, it's almost as if there's no gravy...I had always like the wetter hokkien prawn mee version...BUT, this hokkien prawn mee did not fail to impress me...It's very fragrant even though there's almost no gravy...All the gravy had most probably been absorbed by the mee and thus eluding the incredible fragrance. Oh, and there's only two tiny prawns and two slices of sotong...

Definitely recommended...Mainly because I'm a fan of hokkien prawn regardless whichever version...If you are a fan of the wetter version, do still try it...

The Food!!This is one of my favourite stalls when I want to eat hokkien mee. I like it so much because this hokkien mee stall actually use beehoon in their hokkien mee. It is not the usual wet hokkien mee. I like it when my hokkien mee is served dry. Hard to find dry hokkien mee so I love this stall a lot. However, serving size of my hokkien mee was quite small though.. Overall, NICE.

I agreed with the earlier review given that the portion was indeed little. This seemed to be another famous stall in this food centre. I decided to take away a packet to have for dinner at home later. It was the drier version just like my favorite fried hokkien mee at Clementi. The difference between both is this particular one used the thin bee hoon rather than then the thick bee hoon together with the yellow noodle. It definitely required a certain skill to fry the thin bee hoon well and not to mess it up.

The bee hoon and yellow noodle were nicely fried with prawn stock and to bring forth the fragrance and flavor. It served along with sambal chilli and red cut chillies together with a lime. When mixed it well, it tasted good.

Somehow, i still prefer the famous stall at Clementi to this.

This is very different from the usual hokkien mee I eat - it's really dry, probably too dry for me. But I can't deny that this dried version is indeed relatively popular among eaters there. Another thing is that to be honest, I think I deserve a bigger portion than this cause I didn't find it filling haha, in comparison with other same-priced hokkien mee. So if you're looking for something unique, perhaps you can give this a try.
