Hokkien prawn noodle (around $5): I liked that the hokkien mee is very wet and moist. The prawns are fresh and are naturally sweet too. Noodles texture is more to the soft side but not overcooked. The sambal chilli is sufficiently spicy and its slight sweetness and spiciness go well with the noodles and its gravy. The prawn flavour cannot really be tasted in the gravy though. The gravy isn't salty and has just the right taste. Portion is also filling.

The Local delight Prawn noodle came with 3 midsized prawns. I had lot of expectations about local delight prawn when I ordered it but I was quite disappointed with the way it was presented and it tasted. The noodle was just fine and plain. The prawns that were in the noodles had to taste at all and was very plain. Priced at $5.20 for a plate, it had nothing special in it and just looked ordinary.

After a day of 'sampling' food trail and came dinner, we decided to settle it at Food Republic.I love to eat fried hokkien noodle but now I'm more careful of it because of cholesterol, and once in a long long time then will I indulge in one and tonight I had craving over it.So I got a small plate of noddles at $4.50 and the taste was normal, the gravy didn't taste prawnly enough and just passed on as another ordinary fried hokkien noodle. They gave around 3 prawns and can hardly find any squid

Being a huge fan of Hokkien Mee since young, I like trying out new places to see where I can get the best hokkien mee from.On this particular visit, I tried the Hokkien Mee from this Food Republic stall. The hokkien mee was served in a boat-like shaped thing which was rather unique. There were 2 large prawns in the hokkien mee which was absolutely yummy!Squeezing the lime on the noodles always brings out it's flavour even more and makes it tastier. The noodles, though rather oily, were so delicious

On this particular visit, I tried the Hokkien Mee from this Food Republic stall.

The hokkien mee was served in a boat-like shaped thing which was rather unique.
There were 2 large prawns in the hokkien mee which was absolutely yummy!
Squeezing the lime on the noodles always brings out it's flavour even more and makes it tastier.
The noodles, though rather oily, were so delicious and more so when I added lots of sambal to it.

Very yummy and generous portion!
Loved it ;)

My first impression for the stall was rather good.It look pretty traditional to me from it's open concept of cooking the fried hokkien mee.Chef wore a strawhat which somehow gave me a nostalgic feel.Best of all, it's being serve on dried banana leaf (which we hardly see it on hokkien mee nowadays.)$4 portion look a little pathetic, so i went on with the $6 instead.Somehow I was quite disappointed with the execution of the dish.Noodles were a little undercook and the broth used was not strong eno

$4 portion look a little pathetic, so i went on with the $6 instead.
Somehow I was quite disappointed with the execution of the dish.

Noodles were a little undercook and the broth used was not strong enough.
In short, it was too bland.
It look flavour and smell heavenly, but the lack of taste destroyed everything.
Ended up I have to mixed more chilli in to spice up the dish to make it more edible.

A little twist to the broth and better timing manipulation work will do the trick to perfect the dish.
