Fu Xiang not only sells good curry chicken, they also sell other dishes that are really nice. I ordered their sambal fried chicken. They placed it on a sizzling hot pan. For my rice, I topped up more rice and added an omelette, this top up cost me $1 which was kind of reasonable. The sambal sauce was not too spicy. it was sour enough so there was no need to squeeze the lime they provided. The chicken slices were deep fried then coated with the sambal sauce. I asked the lady to top my rice with their curry sauce so I could have the best of both worlds, nice curry and delicious sambal chicken. continue reading

I like it that Fu Xiang is always thinking of ways to update their menu with more and more innovative food. Now they came out with Assam Fried Fish. Normally food stalls always pair assam gravy with either sting ray or batang fish. They were very generous with their fried fish. the fish they used were very fresh and the meat was very sweet. i topped up additional 70 cents for an omelette. Do request for curry gravy to go with your rice, their curry gravy is superb! continue reading

Oops, ate halfway before i realized i forgot to take a snapshot! Fu Xiang is the first stall you'll see once you come up the escalator which leads directly to food junction. There's always a queue at the stall due to their aromatic curry smell. Once you reach that floor, the curry smell will hit you before you know it, hence the long queue! They serve it pretty fast and there's a few to choose from. But the one that is the most popular is the curry chicken rice set (shown above)Curry was extremely thick so i guess they used a very large amount of coconut milk in it. (TIME TO HIT THE GYM!). It taste really good when mixed together with the rice. The chicken was very soft and tender; i was given a drumstick and 2 other pieces of meat. There's also 1 or 2 pieces of potato in it. The chicken will be covered in the thick coating of curry gravy, making it really delicious. The soup which was served with it felt a little bland to me and it was cold after awhile, didn't really enjoy it.I love this dish! But I think we should only eat it once it awhile so that our cholesterol level doesn't go shooting through the roof! There are other less fattening items on the menu such as the mushroom chicken rice set, will try it next time! continue reading

For lunch, I headed to Food Junction in Lot 1 and ordered a Biscuit Chicken Set meal from Fu Xiang. Fu Xiang specialises in their Curry Chicken and most people would order that set. However, having tried the Curry Set before, I decided to pick another set to try out. I da-baoed back this lunch for $5.50 and waited about 10 min for it. The good thing was that the lady at the counter packed the curry separately from the chicken.Taste: Chicken skin was crispy and tasty with the fragrance of the batter. I could even eat the chicken without the curry sauce! I love how they replaced the usual 'Crispy' Chicken to 'Biscuit' Chicken. Sounds sooo much delicious right? The curry sauce is not too overwhelmingly spicy, but not tooo mild, with a right amount of coconut milk and curry spices and not too thick. Just perfect to complement the rice and chicken slices. The two veggie leaves provided was kinda pathetic looking, got soggy with the heat of the chicken and rice. Nice try to make this a nutritional meal. HahaOverall: Recommended if you love crispy chicken plus curry! Its worth a try for new tasters who want a new variety apart from the usual Curry Chicken set from Fu Xiang~Rating: 8/10 continue reading
