We headed to Gelataria Venezia for dessert after a hohum dinner at Crystal Jade Cafe. The girls at this dessert cafe will obligingly provide generous teaspoonfuls of gelato of different flavours for passers by to try before deciding whether to buy ; I always succumb although there is no pressure or obligation to buy. Italian gelatos are creamier & smoother than premium brands of ice creams such as Movenpick & Haagen Dazs, & less saccharine than Ben & Jerry. It was a happy dilemma narrowing down what to order from our favourite flavours - Mao Shan Wang durian, Alphoynso mngo, Passionfruit, Bailey's, Amaretto & Whiskey. The last 3 flavours do actually have an alcoholic 'kick'. We eventually picked the luscious MSW durian & Bailey's. The gelato & yoghurt trifles which are sold by the cup are good too. This Gelataria has limited seating in the form of leather sofas & armchairs which are positioned behind the L-shaped order counter. We found seats on Monday night but on weekends be prepared to have your gelato on the go.

After a nice dinner at Nando's one evening, we decided to head to Venezia for dessert, so we went & were confused with which flavour to choose so we finally decided on mocha chocolate. The Gelato was so tasty, creamy, consistent & heavenly. It had a perfect blend of coffee & chocolate favour. I took a small scoop in a cup, since we had already pigged out on dinner. We enjoyed every scoop of it,utterly delicious. A small scoop costs about 3.5$ i guess, but its really really worth the price. You have to try it. They have some interesting flavours that I would like to try next time .

My hubby suggested this place for ice cream, so we ordered a waffle together with two scoops of ice cream. We went for the more traditional flavours of chocolate and vanilla. The staff also drizzled some chocolate syrup over the waffle. What I liked about the waffle is that is it made freshly on the spot upon ordering, and hence it is warm and a little crispy. The ice cream is also very smooth and not too sweet. It makes for a really yummy treat at a very affordable price.

Not sure if this is authentic gelato as I have never had such flavours in Italian gelato before. I love cookies and cream ice cream so tried the cookies and cream gelato. I think I prefer ice cream to gelato for cookies and cream. There are many flavours on offer and all very bright and colourful. But most do flavours not look authentic and the price is quite high for a small cup of gelato. But it's a nice sweet fix... not my cup of tea. Convenient location. Did not see many people buying at all! And that is on a weekend afternoon!

As my school is around Bugis area, whenever I pass by Gelateria Venezia ice-cream store, I can't help but to find it really cute with it's simple and sweet exterior of the store. The whole row of ice-cream in their tubs just looks so delicious and pretty that you can't help but to keep looking. Small tables and chairs placed around the store are also a very cute concept of "street vendor" in the shopping centre itself.I especially love the chocolate flavors in this store, not too sweet but still very flavory!
