This is a reasonably priced restaurant to have tonkatsu Most of their items are around $10++ if you want to order black pig will need to top up a few dollars more. Overall edible for the price but not really fantastic

Currently at Jcube's Ginza Barin branch, there was a $10 nett promotion for several of the dishes. The $10 nett price included a cup of green tea and a bowl of miso soup. The soup of the Tonkotsu Ramen was a little light as compared to many other ramen restaurant. There was green vegetables and black fungus in the soup. I would prefer they gave bean spourt and chopped spring onions instead.

The egg was braised and the yolk was watery, it tasted good. The char siew tasted more of braised than grilled and was fatty at the sides. The noodles was normal ramen, slightly springy.

Overall, I guess I would be ordering their Don instead of Ramen the next time I dine there.

I decided to have noodles that day so I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen

It costs $12.90 which is stll quite an affordable price.
I really love this dish, the soup base was nice but if you drink too much of it, it’ll tend to be a tad too salty afterwards.
I love the Cha Shu, they must have used good quality pork as there wasn’t much fats to it.
Cha Shu with too much fats really scares me!
It was a relatively delicious and healthy dish as there’s green veggies and black fungus too.
I can’t wait for the next visit to try out other dishes!

The Ginza Bairin is a good place for restaurant food that is selling at reasonable nett price of no service charge. I ordered a Pork Katsu Donburi($12.90) for the take away. For the take away, the miso soup will not be given. The fried pork katsu is soaked in a brown sauce and topped with a runny egg.The pork katsu is tender and the breadcrumbs coated on the outside is fluffy as it absorbed the brown sauce. The amount of rice given is sufficient and this make a hearty dinner meal.

Ginza Bairin is famed for its pork katsu. I wasn't really feeling in the mood for pork so i opted for chicken instead. This is the Chicken Katsu Curry ($11.00). It comes with a deep-fried breaded chicken served in Japanese curry. The chicken was soft and juicy and the batter was crispy and crunchy to a T. I especially liked the pickles by the side that added a certain kick to the overall flavour. This portion was just right for 1 person. The item also comes with a miso soup that contains what loo

Not sure how it works but could try it out sometime.

Tried the ramen from this place even though I've heard great things about the pork katsu don. The ramen comes with black fungi, a big piece of cha shu, one boiled egg and some xiao bai cai. I like that it came with black fungi as I don't really see other ramen eateries serving this item in their noodles. Cha shu was soft and of a significant size. The soup was really tasty and the ramen was smooth and springy. A very pleasant dining experience.

The curry smell really nice when my friends and i walked passed the shop. There are quite a number of customer queueing at the peak hour dinner time. My friend and i planned to wait for the queue though we are hungry because it looks worth waiting. And this doesnt disappoint us, the curry rice were very nice, the curry doesnt just taste like mix from powder, and the rice is nicely cooked, the tonkatsu is breaded and crispily fried and served warmly!

Pork katsu don is fried pork cutlet with egg and onions atop a bowl of Japanese rice and soy sauce. Ginza Bairin sells affordable tonkatsu and ramen with prices ranging from $12.90 to $16.90. The pork katsu was tender and a little moist. A perfect piece of deep fried pork cutlet. The food which I loved most, was actually the onion. The onions were a big plus point for the bowl of katsu don as it gives a little sweetness to it, balancing the whole dish which tasted a little too salty for my liking.

The miso soup was thick and flavoursome too. A nice warm bowl of soup to warm up my stomach when the air-con was blowing right at my head.

Overall, I'm happy that Ginza Bairin actually opened at Jcube which is a stone throw away from my house. It makes my life much more convenient whenever I have tonkatsu craving. It saves the trip to travel to Ion Orchard. I will definitely go back to Ginza Bairin to try the tonkatsu ramen!

Jcube has many nice eateries, was surprised to see ginza bairin opened there. I tried their chicken katsu don at their other branch, this time I tried their ramen. And for the student promotion, there was a free drink so I chose the cold green tea. The portion for the curry chicken katsu was rather large. The chicken was so tender and juicy. The outside was so crunchy and crispy. The curry was the Japanese kind of curry, totally not spicy at all. The rice was very chewy and sticky, goes absolutely well with the curry. The cold green tea was a little bland, could not taste the fragrance of the tea leaves.
